I think we got the “lose with grace” part down.

UNC Charlotte will next focus on enhancing athletic teams and the student-athlete experience, funding additional women’s sports, launching a marching band, and creating a scholarship endowment. These are key to creating an environment for personal development and emotional attachment to the university.

I didn’t get to listen to any of the live feed. Was there any mention of athletics?

Judy Rose–I’m still here because I haven’t finished what I set out to do. You’ve been there 26 years and haven’t finished??? Maybe you can’t finish, whatever the hell you intend to finish. I know AD’s that have accomplished a heck of a lot more than you in less than half the time you’ve been at Charlotte, so RETIRE!

Imagine if we started football sooner the rewards it would be paying now.

In the four decades since she was hired to be the first women’s basketball coach, Judy has made history. Continuing that empowerment tradition, funds raised in this campaign will help meet our commitment to Title IX and gender equity in UNC Charlotte’s athletic programs.

So, $200 million for women’s basketball and volleyball?

Sounds like we will use some of the money to fund the new women’s programs ee have to add to balance football.

“I’m still here because I haven’t finished what I set out to do,” says Judy Rose, UNC Charlotte’s athletic director since 1990.

Lets look at some things that were accomplished in 26 years or less:

[ul][li]Mt. Rushmore- 14 years[/li]
[li]Taj Mahal- 20 years[/li]
[li]Roman Colosseum - 8 years[/li]
[li]Great Wall of China- 20 years[/li]
[li]Great Pyramid - 20 years[/li][/ul]
Unfortunately, the best comparison I can find to describe our status isn’t quite as comforting… What once was something, that is no longer?
[ul][li]The Grand Canyon has taken 17 million years and continues to erode.[/li][/ul]

If there were any justice, that would officially be anointed the 9th wonder of the world

At $150 million now per school’s Facebook.

Let’s hope the remaining $50 million arrives quickly and Phil retires!
