11:30 tip time for game 1...interest

Originally posted by austinniner@Dec 28 2004, 07:56 PM Well, I'm staying up and listening, but then again I pee standing up.
I'm with Austin. Quit being skirts. You can be exhausted and still be effective at 99% of our jobs. :P

I’m listening.

I stay up past 2AM most nights before work. Then again, they don’t care when I roll in after 9AM. And I’m in a cube!

I’m tuning in here in a bit. Late night candle light, let’s go niners!!!

I’m on vacation in Savannah, and just spent an hour with the Comfort Suites help desk trying to get their internet connection to work in our room. Now I am sitting in the lobby with my laptop listening to BObby tell us the many keys of the game. Thank god for wireless!

I will do most anything to catch this team I have adopted, but am glad I can sleep late tomorrow.

GO NINERS!!!

Make this worthwhile for me. I wish this place had a bar; I’m getting real thirsty for a beer!

Over 40,
Most of the criticism of Carolina fans is that they are too subdued, and too curteous.
But if you can furnish more info on listening to the niners games, I would appreciate it.

Originally posted by ninerID@Dec 28 2004, 07:14 PM i mean i love to watch duke play and growing up they were my favorite. Seeing how i actually give to the university and vice versa and i attend all the games i have since become a niner fan. im not saying dont stop liking carolina, b/c i think most of us have other favorite teams just stop being such a jackass.

quick question, why didnt you go to carolina? be honest please.

Why are people jackasses for watching other teams play? (Aside from you, of course)
ACC teams from NC are among the top ten in the nation. Charlotte should be grateful for the few fans they have in the area, rather than hating them. This school is unique in that respect. Shouldn’t you try to cultivate fans, rather than making them unwelcome because they they are sports fans?

gamer you are missing the point. you would rather watch a tar heels blowout than listen to a niners game. did you go to uncc? i REALLY hope not

The Heels were on TV at a reasonable time. There was no conflict. Should I drive 76 miles to Charlotte to listen to a radio broadcast in the wee hours of the morning? If Charlotte wanted people to see and hear the away games, they wouldn't have trashed the good TV and radio stations they had. But just continue to bash the people who come to the games. Maybe one day you can pull a curtain around the track at the mens games, let everyone sit on the bottom tier, and announce that no one in the crowd watches big four games. (And still announce the attednance as 7300, regardless of the facts)

Never mind the fact that you could've listened on the internet, which you obviously have access to. And did you really just say "Big Four"? You are definitely a Carolina fan.

A quote from my favorite movie, The Graduate, sums up my feelings about this moron.

“I think you are filth. I think you are scum. You are a degenerate!”

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHH, SNAP!

Sam Cassell was right.

Aside from about 2-3 games a year, piping crowd noise into Halton arena could be beneficial. Piping crowds into the gym would be a nice touch. Of course, since the transmissins don't get out of charlotte, who would be listening anyway?

Who in their right mind would drive from the triad with four of the nations top teams to see the 49ers? There are bound to be several fans who would, but they are few and far between. All four of the ACC teams have hopes of a national championship this year. The Forty Niners have hopes of making the tournament again and possibly winning more than one game for the first time in our lifetimes. There is a world of differance, for the 99.9% of the world who is realistic.

Dear Mr./Ms. gamer: Why are you here? Sincerely, 49er1

Ummm... A 49er fan? I don't think a real fan would stop pulling for his team or going to watch them play because he happens to live closer to other schools.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of college basketball fans that don’t live and breath the acc. You obviously aren’t one of them. Of course that is your choice, but one has to wonder why an acc homer such as yourself spends so much time on this board.

Um, last year when I lived in Winston, I had season tickets and drove to every home game to watch the 49ers.

PS, I’ve never been to an ACC game in my life that didnt also include the 49ers. I hope this helps you, but I doubt it.

I just hope you’re not al alum. I’m guessing you’re not.
