1110 am WBT contact info

I don’t really know how feasible it would be, considering they carry all the Bobcats games. But hey, it couldn’t hurt to ask.

Heck, how about an FM station like 104.7 or 102.9 ?

Mix 106 (106.1) carries Duke’s games. Maybe we could work something out with them ?

Is WFAE still on campus ?

WFAE is the NPR station, isn’t it? It’s not on campus. There was that short lived WCRO a couple years ago that never materialized into anything.

I remember “The Crow.” You could barely get a signal on campus.

WFAE (90.7) and WDAV (89.9) are public radio. No way they’d cover basketball games.

I admire your spunk getting this going, but you can forget WBT. They carry the holes and b-cats already so there’s too much room for conflicting game times. Go after other stations, but even FM’s gonna be a very tough sell.

Sideshow, WBT does NOT carry the Bobcats. They are on 106.1 FM.

Although WFAE originated at UNCC, it is no longer affiliated with the university.

We used to be on 106.5 FM between our contracts with 610 AM (now WNFZ, then WAYS).

BTW, I was over at WBT/WBTV the other day on company business and saw our pick ax logo on a door.

Run I beleive we were actually on 106.1, not 106.5. I could be wrong, but I remember 106.1 had the same format as it does now. They picked up the Niners when they were a young station and had little strength. Still better than 610 W-ACC.

Pork Chop, we were on 106.5 when it was still a beach music station. Then they switched over to the alternative rock format and booted us!

Hm, my bad then. But I know they’re on some AM station, cause I only listen to AM radio and I’ve heard their games. Perhaps it’s 600am out of W-S.

We aren’t going to get the games on an FM station unless we buy the time. Carolina and State both buy the time that they are on the air for their broadcasts. If you have mega-sponser boosters it’s not that big of a deal. We don’t really have that. Most radio stations do not like to interrupt their normal programming to carry “a basketball game”, so you have to make it worth their while to put your games on the air. I don’t know what 3 hours of air-time goes for these days on an FM station, but it ain’t cheap.

how about a network of am stations across the state?

Get us some translators, pickman. We’ll go to every Latino AM station in the state for lower air time costs. We can use Diego as the color commentator.

Get it on Univision TV and get the hot Mexicans Chicas to broadcast :drools:

I’ve said before that if we want on an FM station in Charlotte, 102.9 is probably the best bet. Strong station, and a mediocre listener base to begin with. Only middle-aged women and kids that get beat up at school listen to 102.9.

F$%^ you stats. I listen to 102.9.

Yeah, don’t knock 102.9. I won a diamond ring from them last weekend. Sadly, pics of it are on their site.
