2005-06 Home Schedule

I picked up a copy of the 2005-06 season ticket order form last night and it listed these teams as our home opponents:

OOC [subject to change]
Davidson - SoCon
Indiana - Big 10
Mississippi State - SEC
Portland - West Coast
UNC Asheville - Big South
Valparaiso - Mid-Con

A-10

George Washington
Rhode Island
Richmond
Saint Louis
Temple
Xavier

As such, here’s the away schedule:

Away A-10:
Dayton
Fordham
George Washington
LaSalle
UMass
Richmond
St. Bonaventure
Saint Joseph’s

Away OOC:
Georgia State
Louisiana-Lafayette
Rutgers
???

GO NINERS!!!

hell yeah, st. louie at home! thank god!

Portland?? Oh boy, I can’t wait. Does this mean Charlotte is going to Oregon or Maine the following year?

UNCA?? Maybe Signature Sports can put together a promo. Select a “Fan of the Game” and let suit up and play in the 2nd half of the game.

The rest of the home schedule, I’m very happy with.

Of course, I think I still have last year’s version of this same document and something changed by the time the official schedule came out…I just don’t remember what it was.

By my count, that 21 games. How many more game with be added and what are some the teams that could be added? We had 27 this year, so 6 more?

Also, how did we get a game with Portland?

Don’t we have to schedule a couple of C-USA teams also? I remember reading that part of our agreement with the league when leaving was that we’d schedule some C-USA teams in the next couple of years.

Thanks Real, good info!! I think GW is our best shot at a rivalry in the A10. I thought they were a little cocky when they came in last year and beat us.

what about georgia state? was it just a one year deal?

We don’t need a rivalry. Let’s just beat the crap out of everybody and everyone will hate us!!!

Don't want to steal any thunder from Real. Yes, we were at UNCC at the same time (both as students and as employees - myself in a non-athletic department), but we're not the same person. Honest! :D

BTW, that’s just the tentative home schedule and the away A-10 games. Doesn’t include away OOC.

As concerns C-USA foes, I’m not sure about that. I read on the Memphis board that the Tigers are continuing their series with Cincy and UofL, but beyond that, I don’t know. If we’re going to play anyone, I’d prefer UAB since that series goes back to the late 1970s as Sun Belt Conference foes.

I think we got a 2-for-1 with that deal. I’m guessing we’re making the trip to Atlanta next year.

As far as away OOC, I do believe were going to Atlanta (Georgia State), the Bayou (Louisiana-Lafayette), and the Garden State (Rutgers). Other than that, I have no idea. If we’re in a tourney, please let it be something better/more prestigious than the Cable Car Classic!!!

Please!?!?

I was a bit surprised to see that last night too. I thought only the mirror teams had been selected, not the other conference games. But I’m not gonna complain, get us some good Saturday home dates and we’re set.

I’m not sure I can handle watching a third game with the Biedenbach Bulldogs.

I look at that game as an investment in pub: Biedenbach votes in the coaches poll and when we kick their butts he can see it first hand and vote accordingly.

The A-10 home-away distribution looks fair…I like it. Also excited about Indiana and Mississippi State coming here.

Well, if we go to Maine, we'll be about 3,000 miles from where we need to be!

Seriously, Portland is in the West Coast Conference. The Pilots (14-13, RPI 139) wrap up their regular season at home tonight versus Gonzaga, which beat them by 12 at Gonzaga.

I don’t think the A-10 portion could have broken any better for us. The large majority of the tough A-10 games will be at home, while we get to go to St. Bonaventure, Fordham, and LaSalle.

I was really excited to see you guys coming to UMass next, but then I remember I will probably be moving by then to either Cincinnati or Tampa :frowning: I love Massachusetts but when you get transfered you gotta go. I’m definatly going home for the game!!
