2017-18 pre season hoops thread

Haven’t listened yet, but Coach Price was on 730 The Game today: http://www.espncharlotte.net/the-wake-up-call-mark-price-2/

I listened on the way to work this morning. Nothing new discussed. Just your usual 15 min. Price interview 50% Niners, 25% Hornets, & 25% Cavs. Correction, I did learn that Haslem is the cousin of Udonis Haslem from the Heat.

Assuming everyone stays healthy our success this season will be determined by our defensive rebounding and interior defense. If we are able to hold our own in the paint and rebound missed shots that will open the door to oulet to Davis to run the break.

It will be critical for us to get off to a good start. We play 5 out of 6 at home in Nov. and then play 5 out of 6 on the road in Dec. with the last one being the CUSA opener at ODU.

From 1971 to about 10 years ago I looked forward to b-ball season like a child waiting for Christmas, but it’s been a long 10 years of dream crushing crap. Just numb.

I think we see improvement this year. Davis will be Davis. White seemed to be getting back in his groove towards the end of last year. Maybe it took him that long to finally be 100% again. Ajukwa is another solid piece.

We can’t possibly be any worse inside than we were last year even if the new guys aren’t great, so I just can’t imagine us going backwards in results this year.

Yep

Looking forward to the year. Sounds like the team really believes we’ll be improved with the added post depth.

I enjoyed listening to Davis and Haslem. If Haslem is a legit inside presence for us on both ends of the floor, we could be a pretty good team this year. Definitely need Milos or Bryant to step up and at least be serviceable as well since a guy Haslems size isn’t going to give you 40 minutes.

clt says Davidson has 1900 students

Really liked that. JH sounds like a really key addition to the team.

Why size, swagger give Charlotte 49ers coach ‘good vibe’ about this basketball team

Per Jeff Goodman, Niners will scrimmage Coastal Carolina in Halton on October 28th and Wofford in Spartanburg on November 4th.

True. Definitely can keep the closed aspect of the scrimmage more so there than in Halton.

BTW, see that a number of schools will play an NCAA sanctioned exhibition versus fellow D-I competition as a hurricane relief fundraiser.

Looks like Petrusev has made his decision…
Committed to Gonzaga

Time for a gigantic push for Thamba.
