2017 Pro Day 3/15

Today is our pro day and I believe already underway. Thought it would be good to have a topic to post thoughts and or updates. Any way to follow online? Who all is participating? Results?

Here are our guys that are participating:

It looks like these guys are tweeting about it:

At 26 degrees and very windy outside, it may take a little longer to get the juices flowing. :o

@sideline49 is there too.

So far, scouts from NE, NYJ, HOU, JAC, NYG, DAL, CIN, IND & DET in the house for @Charlotte49erFB Pro Day. Mike Mayock here as well

The Carolina Panthers are here as well.

Seeing Blake Brewer’s name on there give me a nice chuckle this morning.

Nice to see. The average fan does not realize that if you have talent, the NFL (MLB and NBA) will find you, no matter where you play. 8)

clt bets a few of our guys get invited to camps.

Phillips, Duke and Larry to real camps. Some of the OL’s to panthers.

Very excited to follow Larry Ogunjobi through the this process, but what’s going on with Kalif Phillips? How did KP look yesterday in front of scouts?

Any info on how pro day went? Hate they had to perform in such cold weather.

For those wondering about Austin Duke’s 40 time at yesterday’s pro day, Charlotte confirms he ran it in 4.52 seconds.

Thought he may run faster than that, but it was a frigid and windy day though.

Per NFL.com, this would put him at tied for 25 out of the 51 WRs that ran a 40 at the combine.

KP’s 4.64 would put him 21/28. Fournette would be a good comparison for him IMO, who ran a 4.51.

40 times are sometimes overhyped but interesting comparisons, nonetheless.

I think Duke and KP would have had much better times in a dome stadium, or on a hot day. It’s really tough to get warmed up on a day like it was during their pro day.

He’s been working out to add bulk…now weighs 170.
Played at 155.

He’s basically running with an extra 15 lbs he’s never had on his frame before.

That makes a difference.

I couldn’t agree more. I think you shave some time off of both of these 40’s by running in the dome. They won’t get drafted, but teams will be foolish not to give both of these guys a look.
