2018-19 C-USA Basketball Predictions, Scores, and Rankings

Kudos to Niner frosh Jada McMillian!

And on the men’s side:

Robert Martin, JR 6-6 F, Rice - POTW

Jordan Lathon, FR 6-4 G, UTEP - FOTW

Receiving votes… 14 seed. SMH.

ODU 65
UTSA 64

Not going to bother with posting league scores and standings since the latter is somewhat irrelevant under the rules of Bonus Play. Only given is that ODU will be the #1 seed in Frisco and that the Niners and UTEP will sit out this season’s C-USA tournament.

Been giving all-conference some thought. Expecting ODU’s B.J. Stith to be named POY and Jeff Jones to get COY, with Ahmad Caver either first or second team as well.

UTSA’s Jhivvan Jackson a first teamer, with backcourt mate Keaton Wallace no worse than second team.

After those not really sure. Preseason first teamer Jon Elmore of Marshall probably makes second or third after a disappointing year by the Herd. Our own Jon Davis could be a third teamer based on his statistical accomplishments.

JR-RS G Antonio Green of MTSU gets my nod for newcomer of the year after breaking the team’s single season 3 point record previously held by Giddy Potts. (Green was the 2016 WAC FOY at UT Rio Grande Valley before transferring to MT.)

WKU’s Charles Bassey pretty much a shoo in for FOY and all rookie team. Probably first team all conference too.

Other potential all freshmen are Taevion Kinsey of Marshall, Jordan Lathon and Efe Odigie of UTEP, and Chris Mullins of Rice.

Congrats to Niner RS-JR G Jade Phillips!!!

And on the men’s side, a new all-time conference scoring leader.

Jon Elmore, SR 6-3 G, Marshall - POTW

Charles Bassey, FR 6-11 C, WKU - FOTW

Certainly hope the curtain at the Star not as expensive!

Herd’s Jon Elmore now all-time leading scorer in C-USA history.

ODU on this list in spite of the Monarchs’ loss at home yesterday in front of a near sellout crowd on Senior Night to Southern Miss.

#7 Niner women vs #10 LA Tech in opening round of C-USA tournament in Frisco on Wednesday, March 13th at 2:30PM. Winner plays #2 UAB the following day.

Pomeroy favors Southern Miss to cut down the nets in Frisco.
