I suppose the carousel is close to stopping for this year and Bobby Lutz did not find a spot. I hate that for him. Bobby is 60, has not been a head coach in 8 years. I am not sure it is going to happen again. On the other hand Bobby is an experienced NCAA coach, has raised two daughters, and is a softball god. Let’s hire him to lead that program to respectability. Not because we feel sorry for him, but because with his fire, knowledge and skills he could turn them into a contender. He is available, his daughter Natalie graduated in Sports Management from Florida and worked for the men’s basketball team there so I bet Bobby knows Mike Hill. Bobby could spend the next 7-8 years doing what he does best, and you can count me in for season tickets if we hired him.

Being a developmental assistant in the D League somewhere in Illinois certainly can’t be very lucrative when the actual players are only making about 26k a year. I think he would be a great get but you have to ask why he’s fallen that far too. I believe he was implicated some in the FBI mess at NC State.

Houston Fancher has joined the staff of NCSU’s Women’s Basketball as Director of Operations and Player Development. I am glad he has landed, and I hope this leads to a step back up somewhere soon. I had a conversation with Coach a week or so ago and he is such a good guy. He handled a tough situation last year with dignity. I would love to see what he could do as HC in a decent situation. Best of luck to him.
