As expected, Breon Pass commits to NC State.
6’4 guard Daylen Berry has committed to Charlotte: https://twitter.com/dmberry1102/status/1311063831024734209?s=21
My wife’s maiden name is Berry. She’ll be thrilled.
Legendary Berry.
Hope to see another one soon. Like to see a big
For what it’s worth, he’s the full 110% committed.
he rejected cincinnati, already love him
Hard not to like what Sanchez and co have done. Really excited about Berry. Word on the street is he’s a baller. Will slot in for some serious PT beside Jahmir provided he keeps working.
Not sure where Scott got his info that Clemson and Cincy were in the mix for Berry since neither had offered. Hmm…
not sure either but either way, i’m excited for him considering he had offers from loyola and st john’s
It sounds weird, but you can very much be in the mix without having officially offered. The P5 schools especially. My dad had all kinds of wild recruiting stories from his time covering Niners hoops, and it’s crazy how often big name schools can reel in a recruit without having offered. Obviously an offer has to be made at some point, but typically in cases like this, it’s more the school waiting for the kid to commit to them than vice versa. Cinci or Clemson could very well be waiting for him to say “yeah man I definitely want to play for you!” before ever extending an offer. I know you guys rag on David, but I trust he’s right on this.
Recruiting is a very weird and wild process.
Edit: Another note to add: This is how P5 schools get under the radar kids. As soon as they offer, the whole world knows, so it’s in their best interest to keep it under wraps until the 11th hour.
Chisox, thanks! I had scrolled through Berry’s Twitter page all the way back to his first offer from UNCG.
FWIW, seems like we can always count on Clemson offering a player at some point after he received one from the Niners!
A few years ago it seemed that the other thing we could count on was when Clemson players got sick of being beaten by every team in their conference, they would transfer to Charlotte.
We went through several years of VaT offering every guy we offered as well. It seemed like we were doing their recruiting
We offered Lucas Taylor on June 22nd. Clemson followed three days later. With his commitment announcement coming next week, 247 is predicting he’ll pick the Tigers from his 30+ offers.
playoff game vs steward school. folkes is #4 in white.
i know this has been posted in the other thread, but i figured this belongs in here as well:
With the two commitments this week, plus learning that Cannon is sitting out this season, that leaves one remaining scholarship to be filled.
