2022 College Football 🏈

Colorada went 1-11 this year. In the 48 hours since hiring Sanders, the athletic department received $50,000 in donations, saw 42 million engagements on social media, had 173,000 new followers, received 1,400 season ticket deposits, and garnered 6,000 season ticket inquiries. Also, several blue chip transfers and recruits have expressed interest in the program.

He might not be worth a damn with X’s and O’s, but that’s what coordinators are for. Recruiting has become incalculably better overnight. Whoever wrote that Reddit post is likely a Nebraskan who has had their brain dulled by generations of inbreeding, sun poisoning in the corn fields, and eating bugs.

Even if they are correct about a bunch of 3 and 4 win seasons, they disprove their thesis. Currently, Colorado’s Sagarin Ranking is worse than more than 20 FCS schools. Colorado is at 144. Conference mate Arizona State has 3 wins and is ranked 70. That would be notable improvement.

Furthermore, we would be shitting our pants and dancing in the street if Charlotte made that hire. We would go from the second worse team in C-USA to a team capable of attracting 5 star recruits.

If both of my hands only had 3 fingers each, I’d like to have to use both hands to count a player’s stars.

Not commenting on Deion Sander’s ability to coach. Sometimes, we root for a coach to succeed because we perceive him to be a good person. Sometimes, we root for him to fail because he is an asshole.
Biff talked in his introductory press conference about their being only two kinds of coaches: one’s who are there to promote themselves and one’s who are there to facilitate success among the players. Deion is a self promoter.

Maye is excellent on the field. It’s unfortunate he’s been so brainwashed and groomed his entire life that he’s blind to any and all faults of Chapel Hill, of which, believe it or not, there are some.

Prepare to be butthurt for the next several years.

What you mean by that? Exposition is required.

Since your desire is for Sanders to fail, I’m saying that you’re going to have a bad time.

Yea, but I for sure ain’t goin’ be “butthurt” either way. I’d say I will be amused if he fails and uninterested if he doesn’t.

Something makes me believe that he will not fail. He will definitely bring the talent and his record with JSU in such a short amount of time is impressive. His name and reputation will get him top 25 recruiting classes for the next 3 years. The tell is what he is able to do with them.

In that case, prepare to be uninterested!

If he does well at CU he will be on to something better in 2 or 3 years. If he doesn’t do well I could see it turning into a train wreck. I have no idea which it will be, but either way it will probably be entertaining to watch.

Welp, If I was slightly interested before, there is no reason to continue. You’ve already told me how the situation is going to evolve, so no need to keep watching it.

Chances it fails with Primetime? High. Could it work? Absolutely.

It will be interesting to watch. He’s gonna attract top players and if he can assemble a good staff he can compensate for his lack of coaching experience. He has the name to drive funding and recruiting at both staff and player levels.

Deion though has always been about Deion though. From his days at FSU until now. The real question is can he make it about the team? Maybe he can, but it’s gonna take a shift in his character as the Buff will likely take some some Ls for awhile. When that happens does he throw his players under the bus or does he become a leader and lead a group of men?

I’ll watch. Always love watching him play.

Trent dilfer goes on the ryen rusillo podcast every other week and was just on talking about taking the UAB job. Its worth the listen. He mentioned people saying he will fail because other high school coaches going to FBS are 0-4. Does anyone know the other 4 coaches that failed? Its interesting there will be 2 of these types of coaches in the AAC this year.

North Texas hired a top Texas high school coach before Seth L. that did not work out. UNLV recently had a top high school coach that bombed also. I know Norte Dame hired a high school coach many years ago.

Yep, Gerry Faust at Notre Dame the most notable HS coach who didn’t work out. He actually landed at Akron after five seasons leading the Irish.

Wasn’t Jeff Traylor at UTSA a high school coach before he got that gig?

Worked out pretty well. He does, however, also have Frank Harris as his QB.

Okay just looked it up. He had a couple of assistant stints in between:

Malzahn was a big time high school coach too, but think he had some assistant/coordinator gigs too before taking a HC job.

The same with Art Briles, appears the key is to have an intermediate step. Thankfully Poggi has had one at Michigan.

Malzahn was an AC at Arkansas, Tulsa, and Auburn before being named HC at Arkansas State.

Deion when he was drafted, “I’m gonna ask for so much money they gonna have to put me on layaway.” Lol

My apologizes to the young uns or rich kids that don’t know what layaway is….
