Seasons over. Its time for Poggi to get this team ready for the expanded playoffs.
Georgia often signs more 5 star recruits total than the entire Big 12, PAC 12, and possibly the ACC combined. Georgia and Alabama are basically college all-star teams so it is no surprise they can be so dominant. That is why I’m looking forward to the 12 teams playoff era where possibly more players sign with a variety of schools and the talent is spread out more than just two or three schools.

My reaction to the game was that it was a bit of an anticlimactic thud to the entire season, especially after 2 thoroughly entertaining semifinal games.
Saw a lot of people on Twitter screaming that TCU didn’t belong in the game, or in the CFP period. I am so tired of seeing that. First, they beat an unbeaten Michigan team, a team that also beat the same Ohio State team that nearly knocked off UGA in the semi final. Second, perpetuating this kinda crap just reinforces the bias in the system which drives all the recruits to the same 6 or 7 schools in the first place.
I am so glad that the CFP is being expanded. It will finally allow players to choose other programs without functionally all but eliminating their chances to ever play in a national playoff game or for the championship. That should increase parity across the board and make football more entertaining. There will still be heavy favorites. But I’m also guessing the days of a UGA or Bama blowing other top teams out by 50 pts will be coming to an end. Why play 2nd or 3rd string at UGA when you can start at TCU (or Charlotte) and still have a shot at the prize?
If I were an A&M fan I would be furious that they punted Sumlin for this dude.
He began FSU’s decline too, that program is just now recovering. 5-6 to get a 10 year fully guaranteed $95 million contract, maybe I’m in the wrong line of work haha.
TCU deserved to be in but that was embarrassing. And boring. I really didn’t care who won I just wanted to see a decent game. Oh well

Have to play your way into the playoff. Better luck to a 10-2 non-SEC Champ Bama when the playoff is at 12 teams.
If the argument is the SEC is the toughest league and deserves more spots in the CFP isn’t that just really saying whoever wins the sec should be title winner? Why give another sec team a chance when they already know who the best is in that league? FWIW I also felt the same about OSU. Michigan beat them so should have gone to the next team.
I’m kind of hoping the expanded playoff results in some of these 4 stars that are riding the aluminum at top SEC schools looking to actually play before their senior year in other conferences.
SEC is so far ahead right now. Expanding the playoffs will be freaking awesome for fans
