It is game 2 of a long season so I am still hopeful on Fearne. Also, there was no time for Fearne to build a staff so he basically had to run with Ron’s staff which run these offenses and defenses even if he didn’t like them. I think this handicaps things for Fearne. I am more interested in the player growth from game 1 to game 20 than the offense and defense.
A big issue that we have had for years is turnover. Players transferring has killed us. A team like Liberty has a big advantage over us with continuity this time of year. Their starting 5 have 270 games together at Liberty in the same system. Rode who scored 23 was playing in his 133rd game for Liberty and their coach. Liberty’s bench had 226 games played at Liberty under the same coach.
Compare that with Charlotte who has starters with 179 games at Charlotte and a bench with 83 games at Charlotte. They have 4 players with 70 plus games while we had 1 (Threadgill with 82). Folkes is our 2nd longest tenured player at Charlotte if that speaks about continuity.
I think this team will gel more and get better but I don’t think we have a shot against teams with so much playing time together during this time of year.

I like Fearne a hell of a lot better than i ever did Ron. To early to know how he works out here, but i also remember another interim coach we let walk in the past, that we’d love to have now.

On a positive note, graves and Berry have been a nice surprise so far this year. Hopefully we can look like a functional team that knows how to play together because those two appear to have taken a nice leap.
Need to get braswell back and we need for Jackson to hit his little jump shots around the rim. Left a lot of points on the court tonight with misses for a few feet.
We look like a sloppy team that hasn’t played together much because we haven’t.
