2023-24 49er MBB Game #28 Charlotte vs #25 USF 3/2 4:00 PM ESPN+

clt has noted that the AAC is a much more physical brand of ball.

we are catching up, but the previous coaches didnt have us in the weight room enough

This should be locker room/bulletin board material and motivation for the remainder of the year. Revenge will be South Florida out of the tournament.

This should be the foundation of a rivalry with the incident not to be forgotten. Watched many times and IT WAS DEFINITELY INTENTIONAL.

He had just dribbled so had plenty of time to find an open man. Less than 1 seconf had passed when he through the ball; there was no hurry. He was not falling out of bounds. Had open space with one of his players in close proximity.

He did this 100% on purpose and aimed at Igor’s face. That was flagrant and should have been called. The officials deserve a reprimand for not taking action.

Saw it real time and thought it was probably legal…having seen it again, should have been called a flagrant.
What a punk…hope we see them in tournament…love to get payback

clt is disappointed that none of our players got in that jabroni’s face

Problem is it’s not illegal. Dirty, yes. But you can throw the ball off someone to try to get it out of bounds in a trap. Rulebook doesn’t distinguish between legs or faces or any other body part.

Should it be illegal? That’s a different discussion

he wasn’t in a ā€œtrapā€ though and even if he WERE, the refs are always given ā€œroom for interpretationā€ā€¦(ie; they 100% could/should call a flagrant foul if its ā€œobviousā€ the player with the ball intentionally aims for his opponents head)…that play was WAY more ā€œflagrantā€ than a couple that have been called against Charlotte this season.

Agreed with you initially till I watched it again. Igor had backed off the trap and he aimed at his head and threw it at him with intent.
Bad call in my opinion.

He should have been suspended for that.

It’s in the same league as the Reddick junk punch from years back.

Dance team reaction says it all. Also, watch the fans reactions.

Yes, this was a rules violation. He was not being heavily guarded. Igor was backing off. USF player was not falling out of bounds. Less than 1 second since he picked up his dribble. Pure a__h____ move.

So, if we play them again, there is no reason Igor cannot sling one to his face on the first possession of the game. And the second posession to the crotch. The precedence has already been set. The AAC officiating has been much worse than any other previous conference.

It looks a lot worse in slo mo IMO. I’m still in the mind that if we see them again we should put him on his ass.

And the jerk was looking directly at Igor ! It was no mistake.

I was sitting behind the bench. It looked pretty fucking bad in person in real time.

I would not want to be that dude when they meet again. He might be wise to develop a case of Covid!

If we do, we do it in the first minutes. Not near the end when the game could be on the line. :muscle:t2:

clt says we should pull a memphis move and send in a bench player to go after him

Send in the big 6’ 10" corn fed kid from Indiana who they say is the strongest guy on the team. Let him hammer him for a couple of fouls with the last one being a statement majer / attitude adjustor.
