Unhappyā¦but not like we are the worst team in history and that there is zero possibility of improvement by this team and staff. In short, dont be so over dramatic.
For me itās not the loss. Itās the fact that our staff looks lost. Hard to expect team to get much better when the staff looks so totally in over their heads and unaligned.
Itās not the losses. Itās how we are losing that is so concerning.
I dont think the staff looks so ālostā i thought the offensive play calling waa fairly solid most of the game. Defense was definitely poorer than normal, but RO didnāt just get stupid all the sudden. Bad games happen.
I sort of agree but we havent improved asvthe season progressed. Thats my concern
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I drank the Biff Kool-Aid, Iāll admit it. The man has seemingly been successful at most things that heās done, so why would I think he couldnāt do this?
Out of all the things, and there are lots, that now raise the red flags, the thing that bothers me the most is the lack of discipline. Not just the penalties, but the fact that this team always looks thoroughly unprepared. It looks like someone lines up out of place on both sides of the ball at least 3 or 4 times a drive. All the shifting around up until and sometimes during the snap tells me that the level of confusion is off the charts. Thatās 100% on the coaching staff.
And the penaltiesā¦lookā¦face masks happen, I can let that kinda thing slide, but the flagrant roughing the passer, and especially the multiple unsportsmanlikes on Eyabi Okie-Anomaā¦that shows a loss of control and lack of respect of the head coach. If that canāt be fixed this season, then I donāt really have a lot of hope for next. Its disheartening to the rest of the team and the fan base for some knucklehead to single-handedly undo positive hard work that the rest of the team had put in just because he canāt control his emotions. It was embarrassing and it was on national tv.
This will probably be an unpopular take, but Iām gonna say it. Eyabi Okie-Anoma should ride the pine next week. If youāre not willing to put your most talented defensive player away for a game for the amount of disrespect he showed you and the team as a whole, then maybe you donāt deserve the respect of the team.
Welcome to NNN! I agree with your sentiment here. I gave up my tickets to a friend who could use the tickets to have a night out with his son who was back from the NC high school of math and science.
Watching that on TV and hearing the commentary was truly painful last night.
Good points. I donāt think most of us want Biff goneā¦yet. I want to see what he can do next year, hopefully with a good quarterback.
There are things this season that are concerning though and make you wonder if these are red flags for the future or just issues related to this team.
The fact this was said last night speaks volumes:
" I donāt want to hear from them, they donāt want to hear from me." Poggi when asked what he says to the team post game.
Youāre the coach. Or supposed to be anyway.
Losing doesnāt concern me nearly as much as this attitude.
I think everyone is sick of the gimmick hires. I know poggi was able to sell me on him after the speech he gave when he got hired but I wanted mullen or frost originally since they both have been head coaches before. anyway Iām not going to give up on poggi yet. heās a rookie coach and heās going to need to be given the opportunity to learn to coach at this level. although I really do believe garber will have to evaluate mike hill at some point. especially with what he ends up trying to bring in as a head coach in basketball. if its another gimmick coach instead of a guy on chris macks level of experience and wins I really do believe garber will finally pull the trigger of looking for her own guy instead.
Its Gaber.
I donāt mean lost with the play calling, all thiugh that is still questionable, I mean lost in how to control a team and manage talent. The fact they Okie played at all in the second is ridiculous. Back to back game with the penalties we have had are just unacceptable. The lack of discipline is just beyond what is ok and thatās not the kinda thing you reel in this far into the season with out benching guys. If Okie plays at all next game thatās ridiculous. An absolute embarrassment to our school to act like that.
Waited till today to post but still upset.
We are a stupid, stupid, stupid undisciplined team.
No accountability. The fact that Okie was not benched even for a series tells me a lot about this staff. When a State Trooper hss to step in between players on the sidelines the " culture" is fucked. Biff is close to completely losing this locker room if he has not already . No headlines coming out of the program this week about coaches or players will surprise me.
This game was a complete embarrassment on National TV. The way we presented ourselves and the way the announcers talked about us was just shockingly embarrassing. If I was a big donor I would have Hill on speed dial last night. Not to mention recruits tuning in last night. WTF.
Our offense needs to be completely overhauled which includes schemes and players and coaches. Besides King the whole Oline needs to be addresed. When Jones is in we run a 20 yard offense. It is mind boggling! We are in the red zone limitations the whole game.
Worst 3rd down conversion % in the whole country. SMH. We tried to run a hurry up offensive play to convert on 4th down and hand it to a RB that was obviously hurt the play before and all he can do is lay down!!
Hestera bailing on his QB and stepping out of bounds and leaving Ivey no options on that scramble tells me what the players think of this offense and their offensive teammates.
Did not want to believe it but Biff is in way over his head. Not going off on refs for Iveys late hit was inexcusable. Disappointed look he gave them blew me away.
Refs were bad and the worst was the interception we had. The kid who intercepted it was being blocked for 10 yards before the tip of ball. WTF.
There are only 4 games left. If you can play 4 games and still redshirt then wholesale changes should be done on the offensive side of the ball to see what you have moving forward.
Speaking of big donors - gene Johnson was walking out at half time.

Refs are humans too. The players pissed them off so no way we were getting any calls in the 2nd half.
Well thatās a start.
I get that on holding calls but a late hit to a QB that is giving himself up is a different animal. They threw a flag when we pushed their QB and he flopped on first series.
If he can not do it during games in the heat of battle then it would seem some phone calls were probably made about what we presented to the college world last night.
It might have been a blessing to leave Okie in. God knows what he would have done on the sidelines if pulled. Kid needs help. The play were he acts like he was hit in the nads but was never touched on the play was telling.
Of course Andre Ware had to keep saying it is his 5th team in 5 years for a reason over and over did not help.
