Absolutely. That is part of Biffs motivation to give these kids a second third fourth chance. I get that. The problem is you have to have a really solid culture to hold kids accountable.
The reports during the summer of there being issues with different groups Sf kids vs holdovers vs other new comers, gave me concerns. You can only take in so many questionable actors. I think Biff over estimated how quick he could install culture. I also think his staff hasnât always been painting a clear picture for him on the kids that are on the team.
Lambertâs teams were always good for a drive killing/extending personal foul. Healyâs teams? They just wanted to dance. Maybe weâre reaching a new level now.
With Brads teams I donât think it was a lack of discipline. It was more just poor judgement and being dumb here and there and a bad apple - not a team wide issue.
Canât forget a lambert team kicked off from our own like 20 or something too.
I just donât recall brads teams fighting on the sidelines or purposely going after anyone. Also important to remember brads teams played a lot of walk ons and less talented kids. His teams were always guaranteed some dumb flags but I rarely felt it was due to any underlying team issue.
Wills teams and this team at times appear to just not care at times. I think Will just let his desire to keep a positive atmosphere over ride holding kids accountable. With Biff he just has too many kids that are in bad spots and a culture not strong enough to keep them in check with a staff that looks paralyzed to do anything about it.
Often times when you are getting beat you commit personal fouls out of frustration. Coaches have to change the mentality and teach the players to respond to adversity.
One of The couple of weeks where both revenue sports get to let us down should be Niner week instead of homecoming week. Theyâre the most Niner weeks of the year.
