I expected Fearne to be more pissed in his post-game comments. He seemed resigned to the current state of affairs. Too many platitudes like we just need to keep working hard, etc. Hopefully in the locker room there is more fire from him.
It shouldnât be this hard to win or even just to compete in our conference. It seems like the coaches lose their motivation or something once they get settled in. Please explain
I thought the same thing. Sounded like he was resigned to the fact we just lack talent on offense. Still think a zone defense would help with the lack of speed and rebounding.
It can be tough to rebound out of a zone, but I agree that when we have played zone, typically itâs given us better results than anything else.

We just canât make shots. Players are getting open inside the offensive schemes but just canât make shots.
Defense is good enough, not real good, but good enough to win but if you canât make wide open shots, you will not win. Rolf and Braswell should be involved in rebounding but they arenât. Easily pushed out of the way.
I keep thinking that if we had last years team how much hay we could be making. Hate NIL

Our defense is terrible this year. 292nd in FG%. Down 200 spots from last year.
Because of our poor offensive shooting we are on defense 10+ possessions more than we should be. Wears down. Again I was saying we are stellar but we are not getting blown out, but canât get over the hump either.

Now 5-0. Donât expect Loyola Marymount to later beat Gonzaga to make it 6-0 but there have been some surprises today and that game is in LA.
So we canât rebound, play terrible defense, and canât shoot. Sounds like a team that is just flat out bad

Only saw the 2nd half, thought we played ok, not sure how Rice will line up in the conference.
On the road is tough but it really didnt seem like we were goin to have any chance to win.
Not sure why our team or any team allows the whole team to take 3 pointers (modern bballâŚ), that seemed to really hurt any momentum we had, seems the improved opportunity is to pass or drive to get a better 2 when building a little momentum.
Next 6 games are just brutal, road
Game at Tulsa may be our best chance, but still a road game. Need to hope we can get minimum 2 wins out of the next 6 looks to be a major challenge.
Rice is dog mess. They lost to an NAIA team and besides that basically only played the dregs of the sunbelt.
Rice is an enigma. Lanier is a decent coach - not great but not awful either. Yep, lost a head scratcher to UNT Dallas but also beat Sun Belt favorite Arkansas State - something that both Memphis and UAB failed to do. I suspect theyâll finish somewhere around.500 in league play.
