Unlike Hornets coach Lee āreachingā for something positive in a 36 point loss, Fearne just told it like it was - āWe got our butt kicked.ā
Fearne was disappointed. He said playing on the road reveals character and the team just didnāt measure up tonight. The only player he praised was Braswell. At the end, Fearne seemed to expect more from the players who are experiencing their last season. They need to go out on a higher note as they will miss the game when their career is over. I hope in the locker room his Knute Rockne speech is better.
Watching this game tonight, it is clear when you compare them to usā¦ā¦

The TV announcers threw a lot of shots at the Niners vs Tulane and seemed to be directed at the coaching. Made many references about the age of of our players (Braswell and Nika) and inferring how this team has not come together. Funny how last year the announcers kept promoting taking off the interim tags for Fearns. I know heās not going anywhere but he needs to overhaul the staff and change the playing style imo.

Yeah that double bye is invaluable. Just ask our team from last year who had it, then took a dive ( yeah I said it) to a team we should have beaten by 20. Iām still unhealthily pissed off about that and probably always will be. TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE.

Donāt forget that SMU lost to Temple as well in the 2024 AAC tournament. Guess the ādouble diveā was on. Of course, the irony is that the 2023-24 Owls are ones under investigation!
