2024-25 AAC Basketball

A pretty good LA Tech team giving the #16 Tigers all they can handle tonight. Memphis 65-63 with under 5 to go.

AAC next best North Texas in High Point tonight taking on the Panthers, who are undefeated at home - which includes a win over UAB last month.

High Point 2, AAC 0. I’m letting that sink in. Big South favorite Panthers have now beaten both the league reigning champ and preseason fav UAB and the best AAC team not named Memphis.

Check High Point’s BB NIL money compared to AAC teams besides Mempiss.

As someone who lives in the triad, this version of HPU is not your parents or heck even my version. They have money spilling out of their pockets and have invested in basketball heavily.

HPU basketball is the other end of the NIL spectrum from App football.

App won’t be able to afford any players, HPU can buy an entire basketball team.

I’m wondering how long it will be before a lot of hopeless football programs see what schools like HPU are doing, say “f-k it”, and decide to dump all of their NIL money into hoops. Much better bang for your buck.

Some opportunities to move the NET needle today vs top 100:

• UTSA @ #52 Arkansas
• USF @ #65 Loyola Chicago
#78 Villanova @ Temple
• Tulane @ #79 George Mason
• ECU @ #87 South Carolina

AAC is double digit dogs in every game though Bulls are leading 38-35 at halftime in the Windy City.

Ramblers rally for 74-72 win. Tight game but Bulls couldn’t hang on in the final two minutes.

Students turn out at Loyola Chicago.

And Ramblers getting both USF schools on back-to-back weekends.

If games ended at halftime, would have been a half decent day for the AAC.

ECU, USF, and UTSA all led after the first twenty. All lost!

“Kudos” to Tulsa for losing a buy game to Southern U.

AAC 0-5 and trending towards 1-6 for the day.

Shockers pick up lone AAC win.

AAC goes 2-9 for the weekend.

Sun Belt fave Arkansas State makes the 70 mile trek to Bluff City and never trailed after going ahead early in the first half. The Red Wolves accomplished that in spite of having one starter unavailable due to injury, PG getting nicked up and leaving game at halftime, and key bench player fouling out. Apparently a buy game too!
