2024-25 College Basketball šŸ€

Nope. Just a good old fashioned butt kicking of which there were quite a few tonight.

Hard no on that!

Has Lenoir Rhyne stopped fielding athletics?

Has Catawba College?

Has UNC P?

Has WSSU?

Has JCSU?

Had Guildord College??

Come on. The P4 is not the end all be all of college athletics!

It may be for all the wal mart fans out there but it sure as hell isnā€™t for us!

College athletics is for the students, the alumni and everyone who wants to watch a ball game!

Damn the stadium size, the conference, the division, the column inches in the paper, the national TV games, and college gameday.

Damn all that crap.

Itā€™s about what brings any fan to any game.

Enjoying an athletic contest. Having fun.

And itā€™s even sweeter when itā€™s your Alma Mater!

I will be at Niner games until I die and thatā€™s the bottom line.

And I WELCOME the day we say to hell with this rat race.

Two nights in a row that former Niners willed their respective teams to OT in the Big Ten only to come up short in the end.

Watching our players play at other schools has just about done it for me.

I donā€™t see myself even bothering watching CBB this season. Itā€™s gross.

Iā€™m done.

Time to invest in other hobbies.

College athletics are frankly a waste of money for the majority of programs that force students that couldnā€™t care less to fund the cost.

If serious, nationally relevant, competition is not possible, the ability of sports to elevate the profile and institution are virtually 0. The argument has always been that even if an athletics department shows a loss on paper, a successful athletic season in a revenue sport can drive enrollment and donations to the university as a whole. If we are relegated to second class status, we are simply stealing from students and with a high interest rate for the privilege of doing so.

If thereā€™s a split, and we are officially excluded from competing at a level people care about, the responsible thing to do is drop to division 3 and stop funding scholarships on students backs.

Mixed results the past couple of nights. Luā€™Cye finally showed up offensively for really the first time this season though end result was a loss to Ohio State. Williams another stellar night but also in a loss to Iowa. Igor a non-factor but so was entire Vols team in the loss to Florida. Dishon only winner but laid a goose egg offensively as Iowa State rolled Utah.

Caleb plays shortly but a tall order vs SMC.

Fine by me. The ball is still round in D3.

No more unbeatens with #1 Tennessee losing to Florida.

Geez! :grimacing:

Last night a good one for former FAU players, especially Vlad Goldin:

And made for a VERY unhappy Cronin:

Funny but does remind me that Jeff Mullins has an NBA championship ring because one of his teammates shot FTs that way:

6-7 G/F from Charlotte. We didnā€™t recruit.

One of the reasons I have issues with Rothstein. Doesnā€™t give a sh*t about non-P5 fans who actually attend the games.

100% correct.
