Interesting that no one from Ohio is in the portal.
Waiting til after bowl game? More interesting to see how it holds up after December 20.
I think it could speak to the kinds of kids he recruited and the culture there. I would hope the same happens here if he leaves after an AAC championship.
On the Ohio forum, many posters keep calling him a hypocrite because he made a big deal about players not leaving before bowl games, and then he left the way he did directly after their MACC win. His strong admonitions are likely part of the reason they are staying.
I would have preferred he keep his commitments and work the bowl game. Seems a bit lame that he didnât to be honest. Iâd be a hypocrite to say otherwise.
That would put us way behind the 8 ball if he stayed for that long. He needs to be here and recruit and get acclimated
I disagree with you totally, Iâve been pretty clear about that. But I am interested. Is your theory that if we brought back most of these players that next season we would be a disciplined football team that played hard every week?
If so, thatâs fine, and your opinion, I just am struggling to see what value these players have if we were to continue to play with the general lack of effort and preparedness that we did. I genuinely felt like our players really played as if they were motivated and prepared for 8 of Biffâs 22 games as head coach. And most of those 8 were losses. Biffâs first year, we played really hard against SC State, Maryland, Florida, ECU, Tulsa and Memphis. This season, I thought we played really hard against ECU and Memphis. In his last press conference it was almost as if he wanted to go. He himself knew that the job he had done was not up to par.
I do agree that we were an incredibly talented football team. I just was completely shocked by how poor we looked on gamedays consistently. The trend was awful. And we can argue about a couple of other games, but being consistently motivated and prepared for less than 40% of your games is not a recipe for success at any level of football, regardless of your talent level.
Letâs see, Albin spent 20 years at Ohio. Iâd say thatâs commitment.
I really doubt you would say that if you were on the other side of it.
They need to change everything so there is no portal or recruiting until after the bowls.
The entire goal of college football (for the also-rans like us) is to make a bowl game. It is like getting to the super bowl and not coaching in it because you took another job. There are rules against that in the nfl.
Thereâs no work to be done in the nfl in the offseason, there are no workouts, there are no roster moves actively happening. There is no offseason in college. If he waited until his bowl game to switch jobs he would be two weeks behind where he already is right now. As it is he already missed signing period.
I would love this too but I think the problem with it is that no one could transfer schools mid seasonâŚâŚ
Oh wait. Maybe that would be a good thing.
If you sign with a team you commit to the entire first and second semester.
What a concept!!!
0 RBâs. At least we have Albin.
Would be great if you entered the transfer portal.
Canât lose our players and our realism!
You arenât very realistic about Biffâs coaching ability.
0 RBâs!! OMG WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!?!??!
Maybe 1 or 2 guys out of the thousands of players that will be in the portal can play RB for us?
According to On 3, here are the 2025 FBS portal numbers so far:
Entered: 1,555
Committed to new school: 28
Withdrawn: 5
Iâm sure we are not in the running, but Iâd love to see us try:
clt says take a shot
Balfour to Texas Tech!
