what these mercenaries do or what happens to them or what their motivations are. Just makes me sick. 
Most of the guys on our team going into the portal may end up at FCS.
From what I’ve read, odds are many won’t end up anywhere else to play football. Most recent stats show 45% of transfers land with another team.
That is what is sad. The players have people in their ears telling them that can go P4 and get paid when they did not hardly play here. Most are giving up a free education over bad advice from someone who they trust but knows nothing about football.
Yeah until there is some sort of “salary cap” or SOME sort of semblance of rules on how the money can be spent… the vast majority is going to a few skill players and the rest are not getting anything.
The cap is coming. Question is whether or not it will stand up to the litigious scrutiny likely to follow its initial implementation.
Bigger question will be who can compete outside the P4. Not everyone will be able to.

I hope these dudes are making sure credits transfer and they can afford to stay at charlotte not on scholarship if they don’t get a landing spot.
If these guys want to go into coaching one day they need a degree.
I would love to see some stats on this phenomenon.
Example. What percentage of players who go into the portal complete a degree?
Friend of mine with a grandson on the team says Blake is waiting to see if Brewster/Barnes is retained before entering portal.
Not even everyone in the P4 can compete.

I guess this isn’t a portal move or it could turn into one but it looks like Trexler Ivey is all done. I know some said he has another year?
Wish he would be around another year! He’s the type player that will be remembered when he comes back to visit!!
We definitely will be in the portal for some QBs even if Purdie returns!!!
My gut feeling - With the new roster cap at 105, there will be a ton of P4 players who will transfer down and push out G5 players who go FCS etc. Really would like to keep some of our key guys (Purdie, some of the OL) but I have to believe that if we hire the right coach, he will bring in at least equal talent, if not better talent due to: 1 - the current environment and 2 - being competent. It has to be a draw to a player to have opportunity for instant playing time and national games on ESPN platform. So i’m not stressing over who enters the portal.
Brewster coached with Bly at UNC. Bly coached this kid for many years. Would likely hire Bly, no? He could keep this kid. And Purdie. And Blake.
Quietly our best OL. At least by Pro Football Focus. The losses are starting to sting bad.
