Poggi recruits “athletes” who no one else wants because they are headcases!!! They were once highly rated due to athleticism and a few crazy standout plays but they don’t pan out due to mindset

Halloween great!, Fans great!, Espn great! our football program strategy/administration not so good!
We had 2 hype’d Qb’s at home only completed 7 passes……
Hopefully our Administration does
not let Dan Mullin leave campus without a Contract proposal in his hand😎……
The shot of Cheerleaders leaving during the game was epic theater. Are we that bad? Combined with Tulane sidelines catching our passes out of bounds😳… did they catch more than we completed in play??

That’s three losses in a row. Bye week coming at the right time. Inconsistent play from the QB position a problem yet again (we have said that too often the last couple of years).
Tulane is really good obviously so I can’t say I am shocked we lost. Our 3 remaining games are all winnable. With that said, I still don’t feel like we are a very good football team. If win the next 3
that will change of course.

Thoughts from section 104
Defense played well but just couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down or make an impact play to throw Tulane off schedule.
Our offensive play calling is not good. We have good receivers and backs that are not getting schemed open for easy receptions. We seemed to have forgotten we have TEs.
Miller needs to go
I am sure Max is a good kid but he looks lost and unable to read a defense.
The spots, especially on that first long drive, were terrible. Two phantom first downs
We made some dumb plays, personal fouls, but some were ridiculous calls as well. Purdy “facemask” was one of the ridiculous ones. Turned the whole game as a huge gain goes backwards and then he throws stupid pick 6.
Tulane is really good. They will be a problem for most any team

We are not a good football team, but somehow have three games left that are winnable. I have no confidence in our staff to game plan for USF or call the right plays in the moment so I am not hopeful and feel like the ECU game was either very lucky, or they really stink.
So glad the students showed up both on ESPN and at the game - just sucks that our product on the field isn’t very good.
As for Poggi - I can’t even stand to hear him talk at this point. His schtick is old, he doesn’t seem to have a passion for winning or holding people accountable and clearly is failing as the CEO style coach I thought he would be.

How is it Wilson only gets what 6 carries last night?
I’ll not a football guy, but I truly question the decisions we make on the offensive side of the ball in who we put on the field and scheme for.
Brown is not it. Purdie has all the potential. We should just go with him and take the freshman lumps. Wilson should get 10-15 carries a game minimum.
I’d love to see some jet sweeps with Rutledge and our great blocking receivers.
Our tight ends have disappeared and I thought that was a strength of ours.
I think we have some talent and our offensive staff can’t realize the potential.

Last night is up there with most frustrating Niner games I’ve ever seen. Really felt like we were there if we could have just played smarter in the first half.
I am so sick of the penalties that are 100% self inflicted. Holding and what not sucks but typically comes from kids trying. The illegal formations and false starts and personal fouls are a hallmark of this team and it’s consistently screwing us - that’s on coaching.
This is a talented team but not a very good team and it comes down to the folks calling the shots. Reminds me a lot of the Alan Major teams. Less than the sum of its parts.
We need to just stick with Purdue and stop subbing in a diff QB. Max sucks.

Tired of the penalties.
Tired of the QB rotation. Purdie was not playing that badly. Pick 6s from inside the 10 happen to everyone - you have to learn from it - not get yanked which only hurts confidence.
And I am tired of seeing Biff followed around by a highly paid equipment manager carrying his freaking radio pack. Reminds me of holding the pocket in prison.

100% agree with your comments on Wilson and Purdie. I think Wilson has more of a chance to break long runs than Norton. Max looked lost last night. Purdie is the guy. And yes, why not give our most explosive player, Rutledge, more touches??? That seems so obvious!

I am not one to call for getting rid of a coach, but the two areas Miller is responsible for are not performing. Plus they have not performed in two years. I believe it is time for a reset of the offensive staff.
I think the D played better than I thought they would against a great offense and only wore down late as they were on the field too long because of the offense.
