That is a crap opponent for Army…IMO
Navy gets a shot at another SEC team.
On to their 4 star QB Ty Thompson, he is next up.
He transferred from Oregon when Gabriel came in.
I still think Army got shafted in the bowl…Tulane gets Florida and Army gets Marshall??? I guess it has to do with conference champs, but Army deserved better…And I say that even as a Navy guy! Go Navy, Beat Army! Get 'em Goat!
Army got screwed. They deserved more consideration for the CFP , but instead ended up in a much lesser bowl.
The only silver lining is that I seem to remember someone claiming in years past that they liked playing in Shreveport. Must be some concentration of former / active members in that area.
When my father served in the Air Force during the Korean War and for a period thereafter, he was stationed for a time at Barksdale AFB near Shreveport. Made some lifelong friendships while there.
I was thinking so too (regarding CFP), but their schedule was unfortunately weak. Lost to the one ranked team they played and they got clobbered. The playoff should just be bigger, but it’s w/e. They have their rationale for not doing so.
On a positive note, they’re going to stomp marshall.
