That’s just the way it goes. Everyone needs to find their fit. That’s the positive that has come from the transfer rules.
People will definitely come, Ray.
Jorge Decardenes full ride to South Florida. Another former we’ll have to deal with !
Incoming Niner.
Another good outing from Trey Baker for Kenosha tonight.
5 shutout innings, 2 hits, 4 K’s.
Big changes coming in college baseball. Going from 11.7 schollies to 30-35 will be very expensive.
clt says this is bigly good for the players, but they should have to decline any NIL
AJ Bianchina signed with Pepperdine. Going back to his home state. I hate to lose him but I understand.
Well there goes competing in baseball.
Our Coach is positive. Hopefully he means it’s good for our program.
On a macro level, he’s absolutely correct. Baseball has been saddled with 11.7 scholarships forever. The overwhelming majority of baseball players pay to be on campus. Now, how are we going to pay for it here on the micro level? No clue.
Does this mean we are supposed to give money for scholarships and NIL for baseball? I am willing to do one but not the other no matter the sport.
This is all still developing so it’s too early to tell. If I had to guess, I would say you’ll have your choice.
I am good with that. I am not one to tell someone else how to spend their money. I am still trying to wrap my mind around being asked to contribute to scholarships, contribute to NIL, pay for tickets and oh yeah while your doing that pay for parking to watch some college age kids play games. It’s a big ask but baseball seems like a better deal than most sports. OK I am off my soap box and will go yell at some kids that are playing on my lawn or something.
Every player on the baseball roster is paying something to be a student- athlete at Charlotte. No one has a full ride.
We just recently fully funded the 11.7. I hope we can add enough schollys to stay competitive in the AAC.
Amen. couldn’t agree more!
A couple of notes:
-
Dante DeFranco will be returning to play a final season with the Niners. Such a valuable player that will do anything you ask him. Can play almost anywhere in the field and do it well.
-
INF Chase Pendley is transferring to Houston.
