Am I growing to like Dickie V in my old age?
I also like one of the first replies to that - we joke about hypothetical wins for the P4 - how about flipping the script. Do you really think any of those shitty P4 / P5 bubble teams would go undefeated against Miamiās schedule? Not favored to win all games. Not winning nearly all of them. Undefeated?
I donāt think so either. Thereās a reason they have so many losses and itās not how they look on their best nights.
Case in point:
They had to go to OT to beat Bethune Cookman. At home. Miami (FL) beat that B-C team by 40 just days after this.
It is extremely difficult to go undefeated. That level of consistency should ALWAYS be rewarded.

His suggestions are all on point, though I think the eligibility and transfer ones may require congressional intervention.

Shame.
I doubt the numbers are that much better for mid majors.

Lunardiās response to Pearl:
I try to avoid debates without clear right or wrong answers, but Bruce Pearlās argument against Miami (Ohio) as an at-large team requires context. First, high-major status aside, we have no idea whether Auburn is the better basketball team. Second, Miami has won four more true road games than Auburn has played, and road teams in menās college basketball win less than one-third of the time. Finally, in the modern history of the NCAA tournament, great mid-majors have won almost twice as many games as middling high-majors, despite fewer bids and weaker seeding. Now, I suppose itās possible Miami is the worst undefeated team of all time, and Auburn is the best .500 team weāve ever seen ā but itās way more likely Pearl would be better off leaving Bracketology to the professionals.

Ummm thatās a great answer, but IIRC Lunardi still had Auburn in the field when Pearl said thatā¦.
Thatās true but no different from many other bracketologists as well. After Auburn (15-14, SEC 6-10) lost to Ole Miss (12-17, SEC 4-12 / NET #91) Saturday night, Lunardi moved the ābubbliciousā Tigers to outside looking in. That would have happened even if Pearl had said nothing.

Would Prosser be a candidate if we moved on? Or does he not move the needle enough?
He has lost double digit games every season he has coached but one. I think he might get a look but I donāt think he has the resume we are looking for.
Surprised Carboni didnāt mention that QC hoopster Kameron Taylor of UNC Asheville made the Big South 1st team. Would think Fearne will contact the Carmel Christian alum should he enter the transfer portal.
Well, that certainly tops the VCU vs Saint Louis bench clearing brawl of 2 weeks ago and the tirade last week by Miami Uās Travis Steele in which he trashed a DJās equipment at Western Michigan.
Was that Power team with the losing conference record the NC State from a couple of years ago?
