Will this game actually be on the radio?
Streaming only to hear Matt and Al call the action. Ironically, WFNZ will be broadcasting the ECU radio coverage of the game as the QC affiliate for the Pirates sports network.
WTH. Someone said it earlier in jest, but maybe the radio deal is what got Hill fired after all.

Niners have long been a local media stepchild. Doubt radio affiliate had anything to do with Hill getting fired. Out of nowhere, ESPN 730 decided to go with the 24/7 sports betting format, so we’re fortunate WFNZ took us on. Hopefully when future contracts are negotiated, the Niners get precedence over the Pirates for 92.7 programming. At least we’re finally back on FM.

Yeah I was expecting us to look competent this season at a minimum. Instead we might be the worst looking team we have ever fielded. Lamberts 1-11 season might have been worse but its neck and neck.

Yeah but ESPN 730 not only has an FM simulcast but still does live sports broadcasts I think. That move was really dumb for them though, I doubt anyone listens to that station anymore.
But all fair points. I’m just surprised nobody thought to use the Charlotte broadcast for this game
That FM simulcast was worthless, at least for me.
Anyway, contracts decided which radio network is on WFNZ today.

Among many reasons Mike Hill was probably fired, a vote of no confidence in this year’s football season and head coach hire had to be one of them. I have to think the administration viewed that we went backwards after firing Poggi. The record and current play validates that.
