Their starter was good yesterday and we couldn’t get to their pen. Once we finally did, we scored some runs. It just took too long to get there.
I like our chances the deeper we get into their staff.

We tried to get to cute in a clutch spot. Cost us the series. Trust the bullpen.
We really could have used Taylor in the 9th yesterday. Unfortunately we had to burn him Friday for 4 innings to seal that W.
Frustrating weekend. We certainly had plenty of chances to win the series and easily could have swept. We also could have easily been swept.
I would have brought Taylor in. He could have thrown just the ninth and probably would have gotten us the win. We were 3 runs ahead and only needed three outs!
We were lucky to get the one win in the extra inning game on Friday. ODU gave that one to us.
If he only threw 2 innings on Friday I think he would have come back on Sunday like Stanton, but he threw 77 pitches. I think that took away any chance of using him twice on the weekend.
The series definitely could have gone either way. Friday was a toss up in extras. Saturday we had the bases loaded down 2 with only 1 out. Couldn’t find a way to get the knockout punch in. Then Sunday had a 3 run lead in the 9th. A few pitches either way from being a sweep in either direction.
If you mean bringing in Maryniak to try and close it, it’s not that out of the box. He did come in as a two-way player. He was in contention for the closer job before Taylor emerged. Still, making your first D1 appearance in a jam like that is tough. But hey, everybody has to be ready when their number is called.
