He has actually been pretty good this year except for the 2 App games. He’s looked terrible in those 2 games for some reason. He’s going to be a key lefty out of the pen as a Freshman.
Speaking of lefties, Tanner Kaler is starting to come along. He’s put together some good innings lately. Threw 1 pitch and got 2 outs tonight.
Carson Bayne is a little high-strung at times, but in the bottom of the 6th with 2 outs, bases loaded, and a 2-2 count, this pitch was called a strike 3 pitches after the same pitch was called a ball. He deserved to yell at the ump after this.
Great crowd at The Hayes. Where were all the thousands of Appies though? A lot of people forgot to give their all yesterday.
We still have a lot of upside ahead of us. Still, after last week it was good to bounce back to get a win against an inferior program from an inferior institution.
He is doing well. I must say, I would like to see Spencer Nolan getting a little more time. I like him and thought he was pretty solid, even last season.
I heard from some App fans that there were probably more of them at the Hayes tonight than their home games usually get. Shockingly no one wants to live in Boone
If you subtract the player families, there were not more than a handful of actual Appies. It was a tough night for them to come out though. It was less than 48 hours until their heels play in the tournament.
When we went to Boone last week, there were more event staff there than App fans at first pitch. A few more trickled in as the game got going, but to be fair, their students were on spring break.
As for last night, they had lots of friends and family, not necessarily fans there. They have a few players from the Charlotte area, namely 2 from Hickory Grove, and it seemed like their whole team was there.
