2025 Charlotte 49er Football 🏈

Interesting that first AAC game is vs Rice and former Davidson HC Scott Abbell.

Too bad ECU isn’t an end of season AAC and in-state rivalry game.

I liked this:

“We have an elite coaching staff. It’s about competition. Our guys are going to compete when we start spring practice,” Albin told The Observer on Friday.

Am I the only one thinking 4 weekends in a row to start the season might be hard on fans? I have family with bdays in September and typically plan weekend trips at the beginning of the season around our schedule. Going to be hard this year

Not as bad as the weekday games for me personally.

As long as those games aren’t in the hot sun I’m fine.

Wow! You gotta give me some of that S&#T you are smoking

With the exception of Army and Tulane, nothing special about our conference foes based on last season’s results. And with the Green Wave losing almost 50% of their offense - most notably Mensah to Duke - Sumrall has some rebuilding to do as well.

Need to go 5-1 at home.

I feel you.

I actually like Friday games because that frees up the rest of the weekend but I only live 15 minutes from campus.

I fully concede that saturdays are better.

clt says that is awesome to have an appy grad included in the vid

5-7 at best with this schedule, and that is at best, more like 4-8

App, Temple, Rice, Mammouth, ECU, and then steal one other

Duke plays at Tulane early in season so will get to evaluate the Mensah impact early.

Tulane offense will be a bit of unknown but their D is suppose to be really good.

Read that Tulane is returning just over 60% of the defense, so in better shape there than on offense.

Tulane’s not in the SEC anymore. No reason to concede that game.

Exactly. They lost a ton

Tulane game is at the end of the season who knows how motivated they will be in that game. We have to get rid of this beat dog mentality. Confidence helps you win.

My goal for this year is simple: I want to see Charlotte building team unity, believing in themselves, and playing to win, and I want to see the players having pride in Charlotte, and having fun.

I don’t want to see anyone giving up when they fail to win, but rather, every one of them focusing on improving in areas of weakness. If they can can do this, they will get better each week, and more competitive each week, and in the end, they will win some games. How many? For now, I don’t really care. You have to start with the foundation. For me, it’s having pride in Charlotte, having an attitude of competing, of team unity, and of a combined desire to improve that must be that foundation. The future is not about one game, or one season. It’s about becoming a winner, first in single games, next in full seasons, then in season after season.
