Finally done with Charlotteās roster! I finished with Charlotteās special teamers, and had a thought or two about Charlotteās spring practices.

This is only a guess, obviously, but I sense that the top 3 are all good, and pretty close. I donāt think any of them will get the separation to be declared āthe starterā in Spring ball, and therefore I expect the competition to pick back up in the Fall. In the end, I expect that someone will be named starter about a week before the first game. If itās really close, itās possible that one will be named the starter, and another will play in the 2d quarter, with the second half going to whichever played better in the first half. I donāt expect them to yank anyone for a single mistake.

Spoke with Henry Rutledge, Thai Baldwin, and coach Albin after practice on Saturday. Also had some dumb ideas for Charlotteās spring game.

Confession: although Iām totally geeked for the new season, Iām skipping the spring game and have no qualms about it.
spring games are just one of those issues that divide fans. Some like them, some donāt. Eventually, they will disappear.

I donāt really have an opinion on the spring game other than itās boring as hell. The beer was still cold so thatās a positive.

Itās a nice excuse to sit outside on a nice day with friends and drink a cold one. Thatās enough for me. Iām glad it doesnāt go long though.

If I was local Iād come but Iām not driving 5 hours round trip and paying to stay at the Marriott to watch a glorified practice
