And the undefeated Hoosiers and Buckeyes will settle it on the field next Saturday for the Big Ten championship and CFP bye. 
OMG it looks like Duke is going to go to the ACC championship.
If they win that game the ACC may not get a team into the playoff.

The mega conferences have really messed this all up.
Other than Carla Williams for very obvious reasons, don’t see why any other member of the CFP Selection Committee would care about either UVA or Duke making the field.

I hear a lot of the pundits complaining about the “college football calendar” being awful. Why not move the transfer portal window to May? The reason given for the portal window in January is because of enrollment to start the semester. Why not allow for enrollment in one full year of college at the same school?
You would miss spring practice which is when everything is implemented.
Never going to be a perfect system. Up until this year there was a transfer portal in the spring. I wish transfers had to sit out a season which would largely solve this problem.
I think this would be the best way to fix all of the issues with players and coaches checking out before the end of the season. Sure you would miss out on spring practice but it would be the same situation for everyone. Transfers would just come in at the same time as most high school players have for years. And athletes could start a year and finish it at the same university. Everything is so rushed now to get to a new destination before spring semester starts. I don’t think coaches or players can really take the time to figure out what’s best for them.
Nick Saban was basically advocating on College Game Day for the transfer portal window to be pushed back. Said teams should be allowed to do more OTA’s in the summer which could mitigate problems with missing spring practices.
The winter portal was recently pushed back from December to January. Also shortened to 15 days. Not everyone happy.
