Seriously??? EVERYTHING is NIL related. He and his family reflected on the insane money being thrown around and wanted to jump back in the pool.
Nil plus winning matter. Im not talking about turning down 600k for 150k. Im talking about turning down a modest difference to go to a winning program

We just lost current players off of the football team to the portal. Is it style of play as well? Wait they hadnāt played a game for us yet.
It seems the only answer some have on here is āfire the coachā or āfire the ADā. This new world of open portal and NIL is almost impossible to navigate for any coach. And every coach, no matter the conference, will have up and down years because every year they will have almost completely new rosters. Sucks out loud.

When I say style of play, that doesnāt mean the coach has to be fired. Was Fearne running our system in the NBL? I highly doubt it. Iām just saying this style is less than fun to watch and has to be a little bit of a limiting factor in recruiting.

I believe Fearne runs his āstyleā based on personnel. If we had not had a slower pace of play last year, with the injuries and such that limited our depth, we would have not been in some games. His āstyleā got guys good, open looks that they couldnāt knock down.
I know Fearne is a great coach and tactician. His resume supports that conclusion.
The real issue is can we get over the hump in recruiting and getting kids out of the portal that arenāt damaged goods (oden). Unfortunately for all but the Power 4/5 and a few āmid majorsā with huge donors (Memphis), we are all facing the same challenges.

His resume supports him being a great coach? How? He underachieved last year with really good p4 talent, and we were terrible this year

Let it play out. There are still 60%+ of kids still in the portal. You donāt have a clue, nor do I, who this coaching staff has been recruiting heavily or who they had to pass on because they got outbid.
If he canāt recruit of coach he will be gone. As with all of our coaching and AD changes you will be helping them pack. Then when the next one comes you will start up the āfire coach xā thread.

Keep in mind a tremendous percentage of the kids in the portal NEVER find a new home, so if we are down to 60% that means the pool of good talent is definitely getting fairly small.
Can we stop with this gaslighting? Acting like we want him fired for no reason. He is not even contacting guys that ca be good at this level, that we can get. The vandy transfer who visited is terrible, meanwhile we barely contact colby garland. Keep defending poor results
I think itās ridiculous that anyone can go to College of Charleston and start recruiting like that while we cannot get anyone. Or even worse, Wilmington doing it.
Thereās no excuse. The AAC is a higher profile league than those teams. We should have more money too.
I like Fearne but this is looking ridiculous.

Fearne is a good guy but he has 0 recruiting connections. He is not a good evaluator of talent
I agree it is starting to look bleak but Charleston, UNCW, High Point, etc without FB are looking to be in a whole lot better shape than G5s with FB. Not enough to cover both sports I imagine.
I am holding out hope for new Assitant Coach to bring in talent but if he does not it is not looking good.
In BB it only takes 2 players to turn it around if everyone else plays their role. Flio side is why it takes 20 years is beyond comprehension.

I wouldnāt hold out much hope with the new assistant coach but getting a good assistant to sign up for a coach who will probably be gone in a year is difficult
