I just so happened to be working in Athens today so I’m here in person. You guys are going to love Wes on the sidelines. I haven’t seen that level of intensity from our head coach since Lutz. He’s fiery. After one of our defensive lapses, from the stands you could hear him screaming “You wanna play for me you gotta guard the ball!!” That’s the PG version anyway.
At no point did our guys seem outmatched physically. After we settled in, we went on a run and pulled to within a basket. It felt like we were in control of the game.
But yeah they just stayed hot from three. Unreal. Things kind of fell apart in the last 3 minutes. Excited to see what adjustments are made.

We are outplaying them over and over and then they just jack up a three.

We have outscored them 24-10 in the paint, and 10-2 in second chance points.
We just cannot deal with 60% from 3.

Just looked it up. They somehow hit 25 threes against Tennessee Tech last season. Their previous record was 19 in 1998.
They were red effing hot for one game last season. Looks like we just caught their night this season.
That said we missed our last 8 shots before Conyers finally hits a 3.
We need to be better at shooting.

We missed 8 FTs and shot I don’t know how poorly from 3 (it was very bad).
It sounds like that will be our biggest challenge this season.
UGa shot 53.7% from the Field but even better from 3… 58% as it stands. 15 threes.
34-18 pts in the paint advantage for Charlotte. Insane we get beat by over 20 with that stat.
Just missed the front end of a 1 and 1. 2nd time doing that this game. So killing ourselves.
