After sleeping on things and then re-reading Freeman’s piece - which I can tell he really put some time and thought into so definitely appreciate that - I still think Wichita State is going to be the team to beat even sans Giles. Retention should pay dividends for the Shockers.
Interesting that he mentioned James and FAU’s Carlyle as potential POY candidates. Before we were “jilted” last year, I had envisioned a 2026 FOY race between Jaylen Cross and eventual winner Josiah Parker.
The top half of the American looks really stacked for next year. I think there’s going to be several really good teams.
Dare I say it - if we can get some separation between the top half and the bottom half there may be a chance for multiple bids this year?
Or better yet, it’d be nice if the bottom of the conference won some OOC games. That includes us. We were crap OOC last season too.
Wonder if they are borrowing money like USF which I think is a problem long-term
Memphis doesn’t realize that they are an anchor academically, and will not end up in a p4 conference
There’s a reason it’s called “Tiger High”.
Interesting. That site said that the best transfer out we had was Villar, not Bonke. It did say Jizzle James is the best incoming.
The team rankings do appear to still be based heavily on individual star ratings.
But it is encouraging. I think we will have a very solid hoops team this year if we can defend and rebound.
Hopefully we can Crack thetop 3 after we finish our class
