This. We are in the right league. I dont get the desire some have to downgrade leagues. Our nil is more thsn all our OOC opponents except Ole miss. We just have to hire better and continue to overhaul athletic department

I’ll never believe the NIL is as good as you claim it to be. I don’t see that much talent on the field.
Having good nil and having a good team aren’t always related.
Utterly pathetic how bad this team is. Any amount of money spent on this roster is too much.

NG, you are kind of Arguing against yourself. The Citadel doesn’t have an NIL, Raging Cajuns have documented 1.2m for this year and LSU wants that money, App St budget less than CLT. This is Coaching, they picked the players, set the game plans, etc…Yes our NIL might only be equal or Less than the rest of are schedule, but that is when Coaching and getting the most out of who they have comes into play.
That 1.2 mill for Louisiana is for all sports. 598k for football

I feel all our problems start with the leadership in the athletic department. We have not had good AD’s! The good news is that we have had a major reset there. Kevin White is now the AD. We need to give him a shot to fix this. I am sure he is asking the same questions we are asking. How could this football program be this bad! If we don’t win a single game this season I just can’t see Albin staying.

Before NIL and portal I would hold back from coming down too hard on players as they were student athletes, my feelings about that have changed. Yeah you may be 18-22 years old but you are getting paid.
Gonzalez is terrible. Slow on his reads, seems terrified to get hit and misses wide open receivers. Time for him to hold a clip board.

Rutledge would see just one more carry after the 75-yard score, which is a Todd Fitch special. A skill position player is playing well? Sub him out immediately. The graduate running back played just 10 snaps all game, less than a fourth of the 49ers’ opportunities.
Charlotte rushed for 12.8 yards per carry on first downs alone (inflated because of Rutledge run, but was still 7.2 yards per carry with that excluded).
It’s our play calling and player usage as much as anything else (though Gonzalez overthrowing open receivers deserves special mention). Those rushing stats are ridiculous.

The failure to use Rutledge more feels criminally negligent…I’ve felt that all season, not just yesterday. It’s truly baffling…I don’t think it’s because he’s not a Albin or Fitch recruit, feels more like incompetence. I feel bad for the kid…he deserves better.

But our new AD has never done this before? , so again we are just ‘hoping’ for the best again instead of having someone whom has done any of it before.
We keep stacking these type of ‘hopes’, Price, Biff, Hill, White…
Albin is the first real HC that we have hired. I said at the time that if he couldn’t get us to a decent place, then there is little hope for us as a program. He had a proven track record at the FBS level. Maybe it’s not him, it’s us?There just seems to be bigger issues with this program than who the HC is.
I can’t stand the thought of firing another coach after 2 seasons or less. Take that money and go hire a GM that knows how to fix a football program. Does that person exist? Something along those lines needs to be done, because we haven’t been able to figure it out since our inception. What worthwhile coach would come here to this mess at this point? This is a place where promising head coaching careers come to die.

Yeah, I think it’s time for a GM to focus completely on football and getting it fixed. Hire someone from a successful G6 program who can bring that knowledge here and tell us what we are doing wrong.
