2026 College Football 🏈

He spoke too much in his interview about winning and not enough about developing good men and the academic side of things.

Today there is no academic side to things. Just “show me the $$$”. I always thought he would have been a great first choice for a football HC.

The first coach I ever really had a memory of (grew up in Raleigh as a State fan), sad to hear about his passing. Was truly a personality and put together some great teams. Maybe I’m becoming an old man yelling at the clouds, but those type of unique coaching personalities seem rarer in today’s sport.

His biggest strength was drumming up excitement for a program, a fun what could had been experiment if he had become our first coach instead of Lambert.

Still kissing his own butt!

That plan of action for a turnaround sounds familiar…

Yes. They’re just popularity contests. They’re lazy marketing.

Really weird seeing a team like Oregon with legit aspirations for a national championship falter mid season. Yes, QB1 Dante Moore is out with a concussion and the WR corps is dealing with issues as well, but seems like biggest problem could be the loss of OC Will Stein to UK and Dan Lanning’s decision to promote Drew Mehringer, who seemed lost once Moore was unavailable. With Mehringer now out, will be interesting to see how the Ducks finish.

Finally, got to think Moore is having serious second thoughts about his decision to return instead of entering the 2026 NFL Draft, where he likely would have been a top 10 pick.

He made more money at Oregon with his NIL than he would have as a rookie in NFL

Yep, traded a $55M rookie contract based on where he probably would have been drafted in 2026 for $5M in NIL this season.

Anyway, I understand his decision. Come back to lead the Ducks to another CFP as a title favorite and Heisman front-runner plus likely #1 2027 draft pick while making very nice bank. Just bad luck, though still mocking first round. At this point, might be best to just shut it down and prepare for next April in DC.
