With football names to add now its time we put some effort into cleaning up Charlotte 49er related Wiki pages. Those of you with Wiki accounts and skillz need to start putting some input in. Let’s clean these up and make them look like top level University Wiki pages. Facility pages need several pictures. Need face first pictures on all coaches.

Wouldn’t someone with the University want to have this site accurate, up to date and complete as possible? This goes for the Athletic Department as well… I don’t care what people think of Wiki, but it is used a ton.
Wikipedia for the most part is not considered an “academic” source of information, but because of their quality standards and the citation requirements it is certainly improving. And, like you said, everyone uses it. Don’t know who someone is? Wikipedia. Want to know how many championships XXX team has? Wikipedia.
It is important that ours look good. I’m not very good at the editing stuff, but I have plenty of pictures and am willing to do some write-ups for someone else to post on the wiki pages, if needed.

I am adding photos to our pages, working on the Hayes stadium page at the moment…If you could do some wirte-ups that would be great. I would love to have a page for Mens bball, womens, baseball, soccer, and softball, and football. If you do some write ups on the history of each sport etc., I can too and then ill be glad to edit and update the pages.
Also if anybody has any photos, and write-ups they want to see on our pages email them to me and i will update them. My email is gjones57@hotmail.com. I figure this is my way of redeeming myself for all the football “news” I posted ;D

Hayes pictures are good but see if you can get them in a horizontal row. Remember, pictures have copyrights and if we don’t get the picture permissions then Wiki will delete them.

Pictures only have copyrights if you use someone elses right? Those are my personal camera pics. And I will work on fixing the alignment
Great job guys. I’m sure recruits and potential students check out schools on Wiki as well, so it is definitely imperative to represent in the best capacity on there.
This is good and all, but I personally discussed our “facilities” page on charlotte49ers.com with a high ranking member of our AD over 2 years ago and urged them to add more pictures and notes about the facilities. I was assured they would do so. 2 years later, look at our facilities page compared to 90% of college athletic websites. Pathetic. Its a shame too, with our great facilities that no one can really see much of them on our “official” athletics website. We should have multiple images of everything from locker rooms and conference rooms to fields, bleachers, etc. for all of our teams. It just looks better and why not show off the facilities we’ve spent so much $$$ on.
I put together the Brad Lambert page on Wikipedia on Tuesday at a very basic level; someone PLEASE add to it - I just haven’t had time to spruce it up.
It does my heart good to see NINERS pulling together for a good common cause for NINER NATION. Thanks to all who are helping out in this effort. Keep up the good work.
I think when you upload them, you just need to fill in that picture’s particular information. You can put a copyright on it if you want, or just make it open to the public. It just needs to be specified so that admins and people down the line know that the pic is okay to use and they won’t delete it.
I’ve recently done some house cleaning on the University’s page and Coach Lambert’s. I did some work on the Football Stadium page as well recently.
