Having attended the Winthrop and Marshall matches - both 1-0 Niner wins - getting shots not a problem. Scoring, on the other hand, has been problematic.
as was last night’s game. They scored on a beautiful corner kick that just curled into the net with about 5 minutes left that took a W away from us. It might have been a draw, but it seemed like a loss. I’m sure it seemed like a win for Elon. It’s almost like they spend so much effort getting the ball either across or into the box that they don’t focus on the shot to come after.
I guess I’m the only one still watching these guys? It is tough to watch. They will totally run circles around another team for a half then somehow find a way to lose. They did again tonight. blew a PK, then got a cheap PK against them to lose. They’re getting tough to watch. Very frustrating, because they usually look like they outclass their opponents. Think our streak of post-season appearances comes to an end this year unless they can turn things around.
Still watching them too! Same old same old - double digit shots on goal and again only one goal scored. Ugh!
Really poor decision tonight by the ref to give ODU a late PK. Shots were 17-4. Have to put away our chances. Tough result to swallow.
yeah, I was scratching my head after that call. coach was PISSED. I just shook my head.
Lack quality in final third of field at both ends. Giving up own-goals and blowing PK’s isn’t enuff against a good ODU team. Don’t seem to have the level of talent of years past. Hope it’s a one time thing and not a trend.
