A lot of A10 teams kick off the season Thursday night

Some of the games tonight:

Tenn. Tech @ Dayton
Hartford @ UMass
Hampton @ Richmond
Robert Morris @ St. Bonaventure
Lafayette @ St. Joe’s

Saturday November 26th has a nearly full A10 slate as well. Everyone but UMass and Temple is playing that day, including Xavier @ Purdue at 4:30pm on Fox Sports Ohio (Direct TV channel 637). Enjoy some A10 hoops with your leftover turkey.

UAB plays UMass the night before. Good measuring stick of UMass against a well known CUSA foe.

BTW,

Check out Davidson. They should apply for conference membership based on their schedule the next couple of weeks.

They play UMass at home on Tuesday the 22nd, then catch St. Joe’s at home on Saturday the 26th, before travelling to Halton arena for our annual game on Wednesday the 30th. Should be another good early season barometer.

The Hampton-Richmond game has me curious to see how the uptempo style will do against Richmond’s new Princeton offense. Hampton is usually near the top of the MEAC, so that will be a tough game for Richmond not even counting the fact that it’s an in-state opponent.

St. Joes game is tomorrow.

Best Recruiting Class in our history just signed their Letters of Intent. This clas and the next were the ones Martelli said were and will be the result Jameers Team.

Those games are today, Friday, November 18th.

BTW, Temple lost to #18 UCLA last night in the NIT Season Tip-Off, 54-47. Looks like the Owls took a page of the Niners offensive book, going 17-54 from the field. Yikes!

Temple could have easily had that game with better shot selection. Looks like it could be a long season of close battles with A10 opponents.

Maybe we can swap leagues with them. Go to the Southern Conference and play 1-AA Football.

I know, I know…

Davidson plays D-III football.

HP, they actually play D-1AA, albeit in the non-scholarship Pioneer League. BTW, that’s the league that Dayton plays football in as well.

All five A10 teams won.
