Correction: Games will not be shown on WTVI.
Why did this change?? I donāt get this. The schedule posted online even said WTVI under the TV column but that has changed now. What the heck happened?
Also, is the final going to be on ESPN now? This just stinksā¦
I believe they will be shown on Channel 22 in the Charlotte area. Someone āin the knowā would have to confirm, however. Also, Channel 22 (the University cable channel) may not extend too far beyond Mecklenburg Co.?
This is pathetic!! No local station is carrying our games??!! I just checked the Time Warner Charlotte schedule and unless 22 carries them we canāt watch at home. Pathetic!! This happened last year too. DAMMIT!!!
I don't know what happened. I emailed WTVI program director to check on it. She said no games.
Picassos is my recommendation.
Something to keep in mind based on previous problems at the Dilworth Picassoās: The Tarholes will be playing at 7pm Friday night and our game (should we win Thursday) will be at 9pm. We ran into this problem not too long ago there and it was a nightmare. Iām sure Over40, NA and others can vouch for that one. Though that place is very Niner-friendly, itās also a big Tarhole hangout. So donāt be surprised if the place is packed before our game starts and no TVās are switched over until the conclusion of the UNC game. BC vs Maryland/Ga. Tech winner is the late game so I donāt see much of a conflict for our game other than all the UNC fans who linger around after their game.
Of course, this will all be irrelevant if we lose on Thursday but just wanted to let everyone know about the possible conflict if youāre heading to the East Blvd. location.

This location is off limits for me. I work near there and I have left work to catch Niner game there in the past. Both have been terrible losses. I went there 2 years ago to watch the UAB game in the CUSA Tourney, and then last year to watch the State game. I still have a pain in my chest just walking in there for lunch sometimes.
Iām thinking my only option to watch the Niners is Picassos at the University.

We may not have too much of a problem getting most of the TVs switched to our game since the 2 games are at seperate times.
I remember having a problem that one night because the waitress for the side room with the other big screen was a chapel hill grad.
I havenāt yet decided which location to watch the game.
The problem is that itās just gonna be so crowded from the UNC fans lingering around after the buzzer. Our game will tip-off the second their game ends. So I foresee a lot of Niner fans getting there around 8:30pm and having nowhere to sit.
At that UAB game a couple of years ago there, NA and I literally ate our dinner on the Golden Tee machine while standing up. Not saying weāll have a big problem but it is something to consider if youāre going there. I just think the place will be packed when we arrive which could result in some prolonged standing/waiting. I just hope we win Thursday so this potential problem even exists.
The problem is that itās just gonna be so crowded because the abnoxious unc-chapel hill fans will linger around after the buzzer having trouble calculating how much change they should get back and then trying to determine which direction they need to go to get back home. I will NOT go to E Blvd location for this game. The putrid smell of tar hole is too much there. Been there, done that and you NINERS will NOT like being there, believe me.
So, has anyone āOfficialā from the school commented on our game not being on home accessible channels? This is just LAME!!!
This sucks. All my friends are at the beach so Iām not about to go somewhere to watch the game by myself. I guess it means Iāll be watching game tracker. Maybe espn if I feel like spending money.
The Charlotte 49ers A-10 menās basketball quarterfinal matchup, Thursday at 6:30 p.m. vs. the winner of the UMass-Xavier game will be televised locally on Time Warner Cable Ch. 22 (the university station). Ch. 22 reaches Mecklenburg, Iredell and southwestern Union counties. The game will also be available on DirecTV and within the full-court package. Should the 49ers advance, Fridayās 8:30 p.m. semifinal matchup will also be available on Ch. 22 and Saturdayās Championship game at (6:00 p.m.) is on ESPN.
For the ones that want to go to the bars, why doesnt someone just call them and make sure the channel would be changed to the game and if they carry the channel(s) that will be carrying them? Think people.
Maybe if we get UMASS they will broadcast it on their website??? Maybe not, I think it is just for their home games. I donāt know. But I doubt it since it just has Listen Live on there.
