In just her first season as a head coach and first year in the Atlantic 10 Conference, Amanda Butler of Charlotte is the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. She became the sixth head coach in the program’s history on April 19, 2005, and under her direction, the 49ers posted a 20-7 regular season record, earning a share of the regular season title and the second seed in the A-10 Championship. The 20 wins are the most wins by a first-year coach in the program’s 31-year history and the third 20-win season in the last four years. She also led her 49ers to a school-record 13 Conference wins while having two players named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First-Team.

Sakellie Daniels and Pam Brown, First-Team All-Conference

Good job, Amanda Butler. VERY well deserved. And, congrats to the 49ers Women’s B-Ball team. Amazing first year in the conference.

Ditto. Good luck in the tourney.

The womens season is the only reason I haven’t shot myself this season. Thank you ladies!

Luck be a lady tonight!
