Adam Mills to AA Portland

I was hoping for AAA, but the Sox are freaking LOADED with pitching talent. Daniel Bard throws 101mph couldn’t even make the MLB team.

I saw Daniel Bard in Greenville, and the guy is an absolute talent. I can see someone getting traded soon, because they are loaded at pitching. They also had a guy named Mike Jones @ 1B in Greenville, and he lcould also play.

Mills needs a trade to get in an organization that is not loaded. The Red Sox now are what the Braves used to be in the 90’s as far as pitching talent. You did not want to get drafted by them if you were a pitcher. That ceiling is that much harder to break through to get to the bigs.

He can come on down to Atlanta, we obviously need middle relief after that disaster yesterday.

101?? Where have you heard/seen this? I played against him in American Legion, and granted this was about six years ago, he was in the upper 80’s, maybe 90. And from everything I’ve seen of him since then, his velocity picked up some, but near that much.

I pitched against a guy in High school hitting 106, and consistantly over 100.

Heres some of his stats from the minors.
G IP H ER HR BB SO WP ERA
20 13 11 30 1 46 15 22 20.77

13 innings pitched…22 Wild Pitches tell you anything?

He was drafted by the Red Sox out of HS but wanted to much money, and got slightly black listed because of his agent, and the fact that he didnt have a clue where his pitches were going 25% of the time. Instead went to Georgia Tech and played a couple of years. When he finally got drafted, he was ruined. 25 years old and retired now.

I promise you that was a faulty radar gun. No one, especially high schoolers, hits 106. I don’t doubt the reached 100, but saying he threw 106 is like saying a guy ran a 3.5 forty, or dunked from the three point line.

LOL, I agree. anyone who COULD throw 106, would not be retired by 25.

My summer coach was a scout as well, radar guns read, 104, 105, 106, 103, 105

But whose to say he wasnt trying to scare us:)

in person the hardest I ever saw in college or 3 years of pro ball was 97mph and that was giz-ass

Neighborgall hit one of our guys, ask his fractured forearm how fast it was going lol

He had NO clue where it was going…

Hardest I personally faced was 93-95 mph, supposedly the kid was going to Cal. St. Fullerton.

None of these guys have anything on Sidd Finch.

I’m almost certain they kid I played against was one of Sidd’s illegitimate children.

Yea I don’t believe that as well, because even at his peak Randy Johnson could not keep his velocity around 100 consistently, and he is one of the hardest throwers in history.
-However, if this guy could throw that hard, he must have had the control of Rick “wild thing” Vaughn (pre-glasses of course) to not have made millions by now.

While his velocity may be debated, his control was not…

Like I said here are some stats from the Minors

13IP, 30 ER, 46 BB, 22 Wild Pitches

Yeah Jason was sick. I don’t ever remember him getting up at 106, but it was nothing to scoff at. Cha where did you go to high school?
