WFU Addresses Report of Sexual Assault Involving Basketball Players, WGHP

The report from the Today Show this morning: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/43091112#43091112

WOW - Well look at it this way guys you can either have a crappy basketball team or a crappy basketball team who has a history of raping students. Sudenly I feel much better about the past few years.

She seemed really believable but I don’t see how anything else could be done. Classic he said/she said without witnesses or evidence.

Scary stuff if you have girls though.

I didn’t read the MSNBC story, but the Observer story said she didn’t say no because she thought he would hurt her. Well he can’t read your mind, he doesn’t know you’re afraid, so you sucking something would make me think I’ve got consent. I don’t see how this is rape if she didn’t say no, didn’t give any signs of no, didn’t do anything except act like yes.

Ken, I know you don’t have a lot of experience with women, but you can tell when a woman doesn’t want to do something.

You mean have a talk at 3am about oral sex with 2 guys, follow them to their hotel room when invited after said conversation, and then go in the bathroom with one of those same 2 guys?

The police report comes across pretty different than her story on TV.

What is true? No one will ever really know.

There is a saying that nothing good happens after midnight. I used to brush it off like it was BS, but it is unfortunately true.

I agree no one will ever know, I hate it for those students if something like that happened that was non consensual…

One thing that struck me as odd or slanted was that the accuser or the media made it seem like Gary Clark was a super important player that was vital to Wake’s success. In that report they said he was one of Wake’s MVP’s and one of the top scorers for the team? Ummmmm…

No he wasn’t. He played 2 mins in said NCAA game and scored 134 points in two years at the school. Maybe they are confusing him with Teague? Not that means it anything in terms of their guilt, it just stuck out to me as being totally inaccurate.

I did get the notion that there was a good amount of sensationalizing going on in that MSNBC piece.

yeah- I thought that was odd too…

Powerbait, I’m pretty familiar with NO, dumbass. Hell if anything, I’m not to familiar with yes. :))

haha, this is why I like Kenny. He takes a lot of grief, but is always a good sport about it, and often times can make fun of himself as opposed to firing back. This response definitely made me el oh el.
