#1 UTSA vs #2 ECU for the American championship.
AC a one bid league.
I’m disappointed but not surprised.
UTSA learned a Ricky Bobby lesson. "If you ain’t first, you’re last!
I think it says it doesn’t matter if you do finish in first and then lose 1-0 in the conference tournament championship game to the #2 seed - the NCAA selection committee is going to take a middling ACC squad in NC State that lost 21-12 in the opening round of their league tourney to last place Duke.
I wonder what the lesson is for Mercer?

"So what exactly are programs like Mercer supposed to conclude from this?
That scheduling aggressively matters? Mercer scheduled tournament teams and conference champions.
That winning matters? Mercer won 44 games.
That RPI matters? Mercer finished 28th nationally.
That the eye test matters? Anyone who watched the Bears this season saw a dangerous NCAA Tournament-caliber club with one of the nation’s premier offenses.
Or maybe the answer is simpler and far more uncomfortable: None of those things matter enough once the committee starts comparing mid-majors against the middle and lower class of the SEC and ACC."
Seems like the message being sent to good players is don’t go to a non P4 school or we won’t let you in our postseason. Being done solely to reinforce the hierarchy. Aristocracy not meritocracy.
Reprehensible.
We’re being run out of every sport. Once they kick out the mid majors, the smaller P4’s will be on the chopping block
