Being in the middle of NASCAR country it would be nice to get a big decal sponsorship patch on our unis. It’s a way of life In Mooresville.
The write up is wrong. It’s literally about paying them enough to stay.
Survey results posted.
Temple, UAB, and Tulane fans hate their AD. UTSA fans getting there too.
FAU, UNT, USF and Tulsa fans really like theirs.
ECU and Memphis are amongst the generally favorable results.
He didn’t get any participation from Charlotte (or the surgery academies, among others). With our AD being so new, I am not sure it would have meant much.
First time I have seen this.
The legacy schools are receiving roughly double what the recent adds are.
We are also getting WAY more money than we got under that pathetic CUSA deal.
How are these amounts determined? I couldn’t read past the pay wall.
Not completely sure but I think we and the other 5 CUSA schools are splitting the payouts that would have gone to Cincinnati, Houston and UCF. So we are basically getting half of what the legacy American schools get. There are also bonuses for bowls and NCAA tournaments I believe that can help increase that number. Someone over on discord said we wouldn’t have the opportunity to get a full payout until 2031 which is when the current ESPN deal runs out. Either way it’s still way better than what we were getting in CUSA.
So basically the legacy aac schools are getting similar to pac 12 payouts.
The problem is, the next media contract for the American isn’t guaranteed to be as big. We may never see that eight digit payout.
Yeah that same person on discord said the next media contract likely won’t be as big, but we should at least be equal with the rest of the conference at that point. Whatever that payout may be. The entire system may implode before then so who knows what the conference or NCAA will look like in 2031.
All I could glean from the StubHub press release is that they are going to be handling ticketing for all American conference championship events. Does that provide any benefits to attendees, or will it just mean more fees? My cynicism is showing…
