Please come to Charlotte for the spring time…

Antwaine Wiggins, a 6-foot-7, 170-pound junior at Greeneville High, has a wide variety of suitors.
Wiggins told Scout.com that he is receiving interest from Michigan, Miami, Illinois, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Creighton, Charlotte and Appalachian State.
Wiggins is active and versatile. He can step out and shoot from the perimeter, gets on the offensive glass and also runs the court well. His biggest weakness right now is strength. Wiggins suits up for the Tennessee Travelers and averaged 22 points and 10 boards last season at Greeneville.

Let’s just send Preston Greene on a recruiting visit.

From Rivals: Compared to Dupay, a former sharp shooter that attended Florida.
Hopefully we recruit the Travelers well.

The Tennessee Travelers picked up quite a prospect to compliment sharp shooting Teddy Dupay like Terrence Oglesby with Antwaine Wiggins. The 6-foot-6 swing man has a smooth lefty shooting stroke and a big upside.

I think our connection to the Tenn Travelers went to work for Benny at UNCW.

I forgot about him coaching UT, that one kid would be awesome in our offense; would get plenty of shots.

Ranked #68 Per Rivals Summer Rankings , 4 stars,

Listed Charlotte, Florida, Illinois, Miami-FL, Tenn , all as medium interest.

“He likes Tommy Amaker and the way they play,” he said. “Michigan is one he’s very interested in … he’s hearing from the entire SEC, Maryland, Kansas, Illinois, Miami and a number of others.”

We will take care of his strength problem in no time.

Get out the iron and tires, Lutz.

anyone know if we are still recruiting Antwaine? rivals says we have offered.

Once a 4 star prospect, now 3 stars

"2. Do you have any leaders?

I’m still wide open right now. I got offers from Chattanooga, ECU (East Carolina), Appalachian State, College of Charleston, Ball State, Richmond, University of Tulsa and Evansville. There are some I’m probably leaving out. I can’t remember them all.

Are you going to decide soon?

Most likely at the end of the season. "

Got hurt over the summer and fell off the radars. He seems to be averaging around 22+ and had 43 in one game.

thanks Pcon

this guy sounds like he could be a good investment. a three/four star freshmen who was ranked 68th. in the country.

"Antwaine Wiggins established himself as a very intriguing high-major prospect last weekend playing for the Tennessee Travelers. Just think of a left handed, couple inches shorter Kevin Durant, and you have a pretty good picture of what Wiggins is like.

He has a very smooth stroke from behind the arc and has a knack for finding the seams in the defense for the mid-range jumper. Also capable of slashing to the basket, Wiggins has the body control and poise with the ball to make plays in the wing.

Definitely in need of strength gain, Wiggins does move his feet well on defense and causes problems for opponents with his long reach.

Look for Wiggins to continue building momentum throughout the summer".

I say gave the last 'ship to this kid instead of Mack or whomever. He’s a NC native and if he’s 1/5 the player Durant is…

Wiggins had it down to the Cougars and Appalachian State.

The former Georgia Tech head coach played a very large role in the signing. “It was Coach Cremins,” Wiggins said of the reason why he picked the school. “He’s been through a lot and he’s like one of the greatest coaches ever and I thought it would be a privilege to play for someone with that prestige.”
Last season, Wiggins averaged 26.3 points and 11 boards. His recruitment took a while to sort itself out but two days ago he figured it all out.
“I’d been thinking about it but I thought about what was important and staying close was big. I wanted to be close to my family. I visited the school early and I liked the players. “I’ll come in and play the three and come in and knock down 3’s. They’re losing two senior small forwards so he wants me to come in there and start.”

Look for him to be a good player under Cremins.
