Approved Student Fee Increases

The student fees will increase to $824, but they get free tickets so let’s do some math.

Football, MBB, Baseball, MSOC, WBB, WSOC, and Volleyball are the only sports that ticket on campus.
6 home football games, 16 home basketball games (includes Newberry), 31 baseball games, 9 MSOC games, 14 Wbb games (doesn’t knock out duplicate w/ MBB on opener), 8 WSOC games, 11 volleyball games (only includes guarantee games in tourneys).

95 total events. Assuming you make all of them, even the ones over break.

$824/95 = $8.67 a ticket.

If you only cared about men’s sports, the games drop to 62, and it’s $13.29 a ticket.

That’s a good deal, right?

Well, lets say you could opt out of the student fee and only wanted to buy tickets to the games YOU wanted to go to. BUT…Let’s say you still wanted to go to them all.

You would pay $180 for football season tickets, $165 for green zone MBB, $49 for GA baseball. Then, for $75 you get MSOC, WSOC, WBB, and VB. (You actually get 4 tickets for that price, but lets assume you have no friends or at lest none that care to go to a WBB game with you.)

So in total, you dropped $469 (a savings of $335 from the fee) to go to the games you wanted to only, but that still happened to be all of them. So instead of $8.67 a game, you pay $4.94 a game.

Let’s say though you only wanted mens games. You pay the same amount because womens tickets are included in your soccer ticket. You only go to 62 games, you pay only $7.56 a ticket.

But what if you wanted gold for basketball and a reserved seat for baseball and wanted to go to all the games. Well, basketball tickets go to $310 and baseball goes to $75. Your total payment is now $640.00

So you have the best of all seats available to buy, you buy all of them. You still save $184.

I am not certain, but doesn’t this fee also fund intramurals? I know that not everyone participates in those either, but I didn’t do any ballet while I was in school but I helped fund that.
