I usually link this in my end of week “C-USA/A-10 in the News” posting, but decided it had too much good stuff to wait until Thursday or Friday.
For all of the positives surrounding Charlotte in the past two months, sophomore center Martin Iti has not been one of them. Iti, who originally entered the NBA Draft before a poor performance in the summer tryout camps, has seen his numbers slip during the conference season, from 8.5 points per game to 6 points; and from 5.7 rebounds per game to 4.6. He's scored a total of two points in the past three games with only six rebounds. He played five minutes against DePaul, all in the first half, and lasted only 16 minutes against Tulane before fouling out with two points and a rebound.
Ain’t that the truth.
I’m very disappointed in Iti. I was hoping for more from him this year.
Tell the nation, maybe they’ll attend.
Considering the team's success, Charlotte's attendance has been disappointing at times this season. Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz made a public appeal for more fans last week and the DePaul game proved to be a sellout, but the Charlotte Observer reported that many of the 9,105 seats went unused.
we’ve got the offense without Iti, we just need him to focus on DEFENSE. If he would do that without the one foul per minute part of it, he can be a major difference on that side of the ball, and get clean up dunks on offense. Its too late in the season to try to feed him the ball on offense though with so many other good options. Besides he may break the backboard with one of his “bank shots”
…
New name for Iti…
ITIOT!!!
