“In an effort to shore up its perimeter game, Fenerbahce Ulker has signed defensive-minded swingman Eddie Badsen, the club confirmed on Monday. Basden (196, 23) played last season in the NBA for Chicago, where he averaged 2.1 points and 1.5 rebounds in 19 games. Chicago traded him to Cleveland over the summer, but the Cavaliers released him in early October. Basden built his defensive reputation at Charlotte University in North Carolina, where he was named Conference USA player of the year in 2005. He was also voted that league’s top defensive players two seasons in a row. Basden arrived in Turkey over the weekend and is expected to be registered in time to play Fenebahce’s road game on Thursday against Eldo Basket Napoli in Group D.”
The other notable American on the team is Will Solomon from Clemson (98-01). Ira Clark from Texas plays there too, though I never heard of him.

Curt is averaging 16.6 and 8.4 per game. Link to his stats
Kind of a bummer going from the Chicago Bulls of the NBA to Fenerbahce Ulker Turkey of the Euroleague. Oh well, at least he’s getting paid (wonder how much?)to do what he loves.
Best of luck to Eddie. Hopefully this will give him a chance to show off his defense and to improve on his offense. If he does both IMO he has a good shot at making it back into the NBA in couple of years.

You can make a ton of cash overseas. Henry and Demarco both made good $$$ over there.
In regards to the European leagues, Rodney White signed a contract with a Spanish team as a replacement player in the fall. He had one good game and two very poor ones. He then got hurt. The blurb on the Euro site indicated that the team experienced other problems with Rodney. The decision was made to send him back to the U.S.
Rodney has used up his nine lives. I doubt there are any second chances left.
Did you see where Butter Johnson was picked fourth in expansion draft of D-league by new LA team, apparently they are owned by the Lakers and play right before Lakers games.
WOW! Thanks Threemire. I’m becoming addicted to the Fenerbahce U. clips on Youtube.
Could you imagine the security people at Charlotte trying to suck the fun out of that crowd? You have potentially flammable flags waving, symbols on shirts that look suspiciously like Fraternity Letters, fans aren’t afraid to shout out stuff to the referees and opposing teams. What a horrible atmosphere!
And check out the play of their point guard about 40 seconds into this clip (#5). I know the play got f’ed up, but check it out - he doesn’t even look to jack up a three!
