Good point.

We were in that category not too long ago before losing to WFU…which is receiving votes…maybe a couple more good wins will bring us up.

yeah, losing to a team that got ONE vote doesn’t help

We have a series coming up with Col of Charleston. That will tell how good we are.

I want the new place to be open!!! The March 30th game against UMass is listed for Charlotte, NC whereas the others before all say Kannapolis…maybe that’s telling…I’ve heard rumors…

I hope it opens the end of the month. I rode by last week and there looks to be a lot of work to do to make it usable by the Umass game.

I just drove by today. From what I saw, there is no way it will be finished by the end of March. They have a good bit of the cinder blocks built up for the tower portion, but there is still a lot of work to do. Dugouts are pretty much the only things that are complete/nearly complete.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone is expecting it to be fully functional this season. But if any fans are going to attend, I think a certain amount of the “construction site” needs to be cleared up…or else, everyone watching will have to be sitting near the RF bullpen.

Not impossible by March 30th…but I think there is ZERO margin for error.

it’s not going to be FINISHED, but it’ll be open.

The Dolphins could pose a treat this weekend. One of my good friend’s cousin is a freshman on LeMoyne. They were the stiffest competition a few years back when Marist dominated the MAAC and played well in the NCAAs, not sure if that is the case anymore, I know Marist isn’t what it used to be.

LeMoyne isn’t much of a threat. Go to this link to see RPIs.

Don’t get too happy about the season yet. I hope it’s not the case this year, but…It’s always the same story,…kill the weak non-conference teams and get all excited,…play OK against the mediocre non-conference teams and stay excited whether you win or lose,…then steadily get worse as the season goes on and filter out by the end. I’ve watched them do this for years.

while I am not stupid enough to sit here and sell you that LeMoyne is a perennial powerhouse, they were 38-12 last year. That at the very least, makes them an average D1 team.

as for your above paragraph, I will hold steady with the argument I have said for years, and that is you can’t criticize baseball because they have been a “one legged man in a ass kicking contest”, in regards to ability to sign top talent. You have any idea what its like to lure a kid that 10 other D1 teams are chasing, with our old facility? Yet we were in CUSA for a decade, which was about the 4th best conference for baseball in the NCAA. It was impossible to compete against ECU, Houston, Tulane, USM, etc with their pro grade ballparks. Yet we actually dominated that league for 1 out of 10 seasons, 1998.

then last year in our first A10 season, we did well with a stacked freshman team. And after watching them play today, I won’t be surprised if they go undefeated in the pathetic A10 this year.

the bottom line is this: now that we will have the premiere facility in a shotty conference, we should win the A10 every year. If we can’t do that, then you may have a better leg to stand on.

we take the first game over lemoyne, 5-1

Gave up only 2 hits, however the new oncampus facility can’t get here fast enough, Attendance: 61.

I have never been to a charlotte baseball game in my life but the new facility will make me go see a few.

It doesn’t help the game was played in Rock Hill, S.C at the Winthrop Eagles ballpark. Kannapolis is one story thats 15 minutes up the road from campus. But S.C is a lil further.
